We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Nord-Lock team as a Sales Manager, Expander, with our Business Unit TenEx (Tensioning & Expander). You will be responsible for providing leadership for the Expander sales team, as well as direct sales and exceptional service to our customers while ensuring their needs are met. You will be involved in some of the day-to-day sales, key account management and customer experience process, but also focused on leadership and development of the sales team. As a member of this team, you will extensively collaborate with multiple other departments and stakeholders within the organization, as well as client-side. This role will be focused on Expander Pivot Pin sales in the Americas Region (North and South America). This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys selling, developing a strong team, and has excellent communication and organizational skills.

The role will report to our DeWitt, IA facility but you will be able to work remotely with the expectation of living near a major international airport in the U.S.

Ideally, the candidate should be located near one of our two facilities in the USA DeWitt, IA or Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation is not being offered for this position.

Your profile consists of the following areas of experience, knowledge, and responsibility:
Sales & Business Development

  • Drive direct sales activities to achieve revenue and margin targets.

  • Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets.

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline through proactive lead generation, customer outreach, and relationship-building.

  • Manage key accounts to ensure long-term customer satisfaction and growth.

  • Oversee distributor relationships, performance, and alignment with company objectives.

  • Lead product specification and approval processes with consultants, engineers, and decision-makers.

  • Manage commercial aspects of customer projects, including timelines, requirements, and deliverables.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage annual budgets for assigned regions or accounts.

Technical & Product Responsibilities

  • Conduct commissioning, product demonstrations, and on-site evaluations for customers, contractors, and partners.

  • Deliver product, application, and technical training to internal teams, distributors, and customers.

  • Provide technical guidance during project planning, installation, and troubleshooting.

  • Relay product performance insights and customer feedback to product management and engineering teams.

Market & Data Responsibilities

  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.

  • Develop accurate sales reports, dashboards, and forecasts.

  • Utilize data and analytics to guide strategic decision-making and target-setting.

Marketing & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support marketing initiatives, including campaigns, product launches, and events.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing, product management, engineering, operations, and finance to support business objectives.

Requirements & Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or business administration, that includes a minimum of 5 years’ experience with B2B sales or business development or the equivalent with a minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a comparable technical or commercial discipline position, preferably in an industrial products-based industry.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Experience and success working as a manager of a remote team.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50%, which may include some international travel.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong customer-focused mindset with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively.

  • Proficiency in computer skills including email (Outlook), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Microsoft Teams, and more.

  • Prioritize tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling customer information.

  • Professionalism with personal, phone, and email communications.

  • Customer-centric mindset, high energy level, and motivated to deliver.
