As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Diagnosing and treating mental health disorders for individuals, couples, and families, while utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's needs.
• Leading therapy sessions to address a range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to alcohol abuse, grief and loss, job-related stress, and conflicts among family members.
• Coordinating with other healthcare professionals and referring clients for additional support or specialized care as needed, ensuring a comprehensive approach to mental health.
• Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of client interactions and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to stay current with industry best practices and ethical standards.
• Building therapeutic relationships with clients to foster trust and create a safe space for open communication.

Your focus will be on a diverse client population, including individuals and families grappling with various mental health issues such as relationship problems, adjustment to separation and divorce, blended family dynamics, and psychological distress caused by medical issues or trauma. You will play an instrumental role in guiding clients through their challenges and helping them achieve their personal goals for improved mental health.

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Current and valid Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• A strong commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development.

While not mandatory, the following experience is preferred:

• Experience working in a telehealth setting is advantageous, along with familiarity with virtual communication tools and platforms.
• A proven track record of successfully working with family conflict resolution, grief counseling, and trauma-informed care.
• Skills in crisis intervention and the ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism.
