Job description

Unison Systems is seeking an AI-Native Platform Software Engineer - Full Stack to join our client's fully remote team.
This is a 3-month contract-to-hire position starting ASAP with an async-friendly work environment. Our client is a well-funded startup building an agent-native app engine - a shared operating layer that makes AI-generated software connected, trustworthy, reusable, and economically viable at scale. This platform provides the foundational primitives (auth, payments, data, integrations, agents) that enable any developer to ship production-grade software from day one.
Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with founders and core team to build and scale the product from early stage to production-ready platform
  • Build and ship full-stack features spanning React frontend, backend services, databases, and infrastructure
  • Design and implement autonomous development and testing pipelines using AI agents, Playwright tests, and multi-agent orchestration
  • Develop and refine platform primitives including authentication, payments, data handling, integrations, notifications, and agent orchestration
  • Translate complex platform behavior into polished, intuitive user-facing experiences across web, mobile (React Native), and desktop (Electron)
  • Contribute to the platform's security and trust layer, ensuring shared identity, permissions, and data handling meet production standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to align technical decisions with user needs

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience demonstrated through strong full-stack projects
  • Proficiency with AI coding assistants and agent frameworks; experience building autonomous pipelines, managing multi-agent workflows, and integrating LLMs into production systems
  • Experience setting up end-to-end testing infrastructure (Playwright or similar) within automated CI/CD and agent-driven development loops
  • Strong full-stack capability: React/Next.js/TypeScript on the frontend, Node or Python services on the backend, and hands-on experience with databases, APIs, and infrastructure
  • Ability to reason about complex systems, shared platform primitives, interoperability, fine-grained permissions, and ship reliable code in that context
  • Bonus experience: React Native, real-time/WebSocket-driven interfaces, and open-source contributions
