Remote Radiology Sales information

What is remote radiology sales?

Remote radiology sales involves selling radiology-related products, equipment, or software solutions to healthcare providers, imaging centers, and hospitals, typically through virtual means rather than in-person visits. Professionals in this role use phone calls, video meetings, and digital communication to build relationships, demonstrate products, and manage client accounts. They must have a solid understanding of radiology technology and the needs of medical professionals in order to effectively match products to client requirements. This job allows for flexibility and can reach a broader geographic market by leveraging remote communication tools.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Radiology Sales professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Radiology Sales professional, you need a solid understanding of medical imaging products, sales acumen, and typically a bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software, radiology PACS systems, and relevant sales certifications is highly beneficial. Strong communication, relationship-building, and self-motivation are vital soft skills for success in a remote, client-facing environment. These skills and qualifications enable professionals to effectively identify customer needs, build trust, and close sales in a competitive healthcare market.

How does a Remote Radiology Sales professional typically collaborate with radiologists and healthcare administrators to close deals?

As a Remote Radiology Sales professional, you will often work closely with both radiologists and healthcare administrators to understand their specific needs and demonstrate how your solutions address key pain points. This typically involves virtual meetings, product demonstrations, and follow-up calls to answer technical and workflow-related questions. Building trust and credibility is vital, so you'll regularly coordinate with internal product specialists and customer support teams to tailor proposals and ensure a seamless onboarding process for clients. Effective communication and the ability to navigate complex decision-making structures in healthcare organizations are key to succeeding in this collaborative environment.

In this role, you'll partner closely with Sales to deliver impactful, workflow-driven demonstrations that clearly articulate clinical and technical value to healthcare organizations. You'll bring together deep clinical knowledge - spanning radiology, cardiology, pathology, and imaging workflows - with hands-on expertise in PACS, Enterprise Imaging, and VNA to position solutions with clinical, IT, and executive stakeholders. • Deliver tailored, persona-based demonstrations of Enterprise Imaging solutions that translate customer needs into clinical workflows and compelling technical use cases.
  • Showcase end-to-end imaging workflows - from acquisition through interpretation, reporting, and distribution - to clearly articulate clinical and technical value.
  • Lead clinical discussions on interoperability and healthcare workflows including DICOM, HL7, FHIR, and EHR integration across diverse customer environments.
  • Support RFP/RFI responses and solution design, ensuring proposed solutions align with each customer's clinical and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to continuously refine messaging, demonstrations, and competitive positioning.
Technology Tools
  • PACS, VNA & Enterprise Imaging Platforms
  • DICOM, HL7 & FHIR Interoperability Standards
  • EHR Platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
  • Enterprise Imaging Viewers & Cloud Imaging Tools
  • AI-Enabled Imaging & Workflow Solutions
Role Essentials
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, with 5+ years in PACS, clinical imaging, healthcare IT, or technical sales in a relevant industry.
  • Strong knowledge of PACS, VNA, and Enterprise Imaging architectures; experience with DICOM, HL7, and FHIR standards (IHE profiles a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging, compelling demonstrations and presentations; strong ability to translate clinical workflows into technical solutions and tell a compelling story through demos.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to speak and write with ease, clarity, and impact, adapting style to both clinical and technical audiences.
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage projects to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; up to 60% travel required for customer meetings, onsite demos, trade shows, and conferences.
What We'd Like to See
  • Background as a Radiologic Technologist, PACS Administrator, or Clinical Specialist.
  • Experience with enterprise imaging viewers, cloud imaging platforms, or AI-enabled imaging workflows.
  • Familiarity with EHR platforms such as Epic or Cerner and their integration with enterprise imaging solutions.
  • Pre-sales experience supporting complex healthcare sales cycles with clinical and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills applied within teams and across functions; demonstrated ability to establish rapport, build trust, and gain consensus with diverse audiences.
