Location: Remote (Must Reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin)

About Our Client

Addison Group is partnering with a respected healthcare organization seeking an experienced Coding Auditor and Provider Educator to support oncology and specialty physician practices. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with providers, improve documentation quality, and lead coding education initiatives across multiple practice locations.

Job Description

The Coding Auditor & Provider Educator will conduct provider documentation audits, identify coding and compliance opportunities, develop educational content, and deliver training to physicians and clinical staff. This role requires a strong background in auditing, provider education, and specialty coding, along with the confidence to present findings and recommendations to large physician groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine coding and documentation audits for physician services and specialty practices.
  • Evaluate coding accuracy, documentation quality, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify coding trends, risk areas, denials, and reimbursement opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver customized provider education programs based on audit findings.
  • Create educational presentations, training materials, and reference tools to support ongoing physician education.
  • Collaborate directly with physicians and leadership teams to address coding and documentation concerns.
  • Assist with payer inquiries, appeals, audit responses, and reimbursement-related requests.
  • Prepare professional audit correspondence and supporting documentation when required.
  • Conduct reviews involving oncology services, surgical specialties, infusion services, radiation therapy, palliative care, and other specialty areas.
  • Monitor coding quality across multiple clinics, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Maintain productivity tracking and quality reporting metrics.

Qualifications

  • Active coding certification required (CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of coding audit, provider education, lead coding, or compliance experience.
  • Strong experience providing physician-facing education and documentation guidance.
  • Background in oncology, infusion, surgical, or specialty coding preferred.
  • Experience presenting educational content to large provider groups.
  • Knowledge of payer regulations, denials management, and documentation compliance standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Additional Details

  • Fully remote position with occasional onsite visits required within Minnesota for provider education and training activities.
  • Initial onboarding will include a brief onsite training period with the current team member before transition to a remote schedule.
  • Standard Monday–Friday daytime business hours.
  • Candidates must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
  • Productivity and quality expectations include maintaining detailed activity logs and achieving high coding accuracy standards.
  • Equipment will be provided.
