Job description

A Message from WiredPeople:
WiredPeople is looking for a Data Governance Analyst to ensure the reliability and compliance of vital data systems. We need a strategic thinker with a Master's in Public Health, at least one year of hands-on data governance experience, and 2+ years of advanced analytics and programming (R, SAS, SQL, Python, Tableau). The ideal candidate must be located within Florida State lines, this position is full-time and fully remote. 
Essential Functions:
  • Perform data requests and respond to data-related questions as requested.
  • Provide epidemiologic and analytic support to develop surveillance data products.
  • Conduct system evaluations in collaboration with staff.
  • Review and analyze data governance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct feasibility and data quality assessments and improvements.
  • Work alongside the Data Governance Lead to implement data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Create and maintain documentation, such as data dictionaries, coding libraries, data flow diagrams, etc.
  • Train and educate employees on data management and governance procedures.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested.
Qualifications:
  • Data Governance Experience:
    • At least one year in data management that utilizes a data governance framework to ensure data reliability and integrity.
    • At least one year identifying, assessing, and resolving data quality issues.
    • Experience in adhering to and communicating data ethics and compliance.
    • Experience with designing data systems and platforms that support data governance objectives
    • and principles.
  • Data Analytic and Informatics Experience:
    • A minimum of two years utilizing data programming and data visualization software, such as R,
    • SAS, SQL, Python, Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI.
    • Experience in performing analyses, evaluation of systems, projects, and programs.
    • A minimum of two years in data collection, data analysis techniques, data management and processing.
    • Knowledge of data privacy and data security.
    • A minimum of two years of experience in data extraction, manipulation, and transformation.
  • Microsoft Office Experience:
    • A minimum of two years in the last five years working with the Microsoft Office Suite; including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Advanced skills in Excel and power query are preferred.
  • Education:
    • Master's degree in public health or equivalent graduate degree in a health-related field.
