Job description

Job Title: Vice President of Quantum

Location:  Remote with Significant Travel

Division: Revenue

Department: Business Development

OTE: $350,000

About Us:

Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) (Nasdaq: QUBT) is an innovative, integrated photonics company that provides accessible and affordable quantum machines to the world today. QCi products are designed to operate at room temperature and low power at an affordable cost. The Company’s portfolio of core technology and products offer unique capabilities in the areas of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, cyber security as well as remote sensing applications.

Scope of the Job:

We are hiring a Vice President of Quantum to build, lead, and scale QCI's global vertical sales organization. This is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for taking our quantum and photonic portfolio to market across five priority industries — Financial Services, Telecommunications, Travel & Hospitality, Technology, and Healthcare — and for building the team, strategy, and executive relationships that turn a frontier technology into durable enterprise revenue.

You do not need to be a quantum expert. We are looking for a proven enterprise sales leader who has built and run high-performing vertical sales teams selling sophisticated, high-technology solutions — both software and enterprise-grade hardware — into the largest organizations in these industries. If you have carried and beaten big numbers, hired and developed elite sellers, and earned trust in the C-suites of the Fortune 500, we will teach you the quantum. Your job is to build the go-to-market engine and the team that wins these accounts.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Own the vertical sales strategy. Define and execute QCI's go-to-market strategy across Finance, Telecom, Travel & Hospitality, Technology, and Healthcare — prioritizing segments, use cases, and target accounts where our portfolio creates the most value.
  • Build and lead the team. Recruit, hire, coach, and retain a team of vertical National Account Managers and sellers; set the standards, cadence, and culture of a world-class enterprise sales organization.
  • Carry the number. Own the aggregate revenue target across all verticals; forecast accurately, manage the pipeline rigorously, and hold the team accountable to predictable, repeatable results.
  • Sell at the executive level. Personally engage and win the most strategic accounts — building relationships with CxOs and senior decision-makers, and modeling the executive, business-value selling you expect from the team.
  • Bridge product and market. Partner with product, research, and marketing to translate customer needs into roadmap priorities, positioning, and repeatable vertical plays and reference stories.
  • Construct the commercial model. Shape pricing, packaging, and partnership strategy for both software/subscription and hardware offerings across each vertical.
  • Operationalize the engine. Stand up the metrics, tools, methodology, and processes (CRM discipline, sales methodology, deal reviews) that make vertical selling scalable and measurable. Represent QCI externally. Serve as a senior commercial face of the company with customers, partners, analysts, and at industry events

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 12+ years of enterprise technology sales, including significant experience leading and building vertical or enterprise sales teams with direct quota responsibility for a team or region.
  • Proven track record running vertical sales of high-technology solutions into the largest organizations in one or more of QCI's priority industries — Financial Services, Telecommunications, Travel & Hospitality, Technology, and/or Healthcare.
  • Demonstrated success selling BOTH enterprise software (or SaaS/subscription) AND enterprise-grade hardware into large, global enterprises — with quantifiable wins in each category.
  • A record of building and scaling teams — recruiting, developing, and retaining top enterprise sellers, and consistently delivering against aggregate revenue targets.
  • Deep C-suite credibility and an executive network across one or more priority verticals, with the presence to open and expand relationships at the most senior levels.
  • Command of complex, long-cycle enterprise sales — multi-stakeholder, multi-quarter deals involving formal procurement, security/vendor-risk review, and rigorous technical evaluation.
  • Business-value leadership. The ability to translate sophisticated, emerging technology into clear ROI and outcomes — and to teach the team to do the same.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to customers, prospects, and team members across global markets.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience selling emerging or frontier technology — quantum, AI/ML, HPC, advanced analytics, photonics, or specialized hardware — into conservative, highly-regulated buyers. (Direct quantum experience is a plus but is NOT required.)
  • Multi-vertical breadth, having sold or led across more than one of the priority industries.
  • Domain fluency in the optimization, machine-learning, and security problems that matter to these industries (e.g., risk and portfolio optimization, network optimization, revenue management, AI infrastructure, or healthcare analytics and security).
  • Bachelor's degree in a business, engineering, or quantitative field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.

What Success Looks Like:

Within your first year you will have defined QCI's vertical go-to-market strategy, hired and ramped a foundational team of vertical account managers, established or deepened executive relationships across the priority industries, built a qualified multi-vertical pipeline, and closed foundational deals that establish QCI as a strategic technology partner — not a science project — inside the world's leading enterprises. You will have put in place the metrics, methodology, and culture that make this a repeatable, scalable engine for years to come.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive executive base salary plus uncapped variable compensation, meaningful equity participation, and a comprehensive benefits package. [Insert specific base/OTE range, equity, and benefits details per current compensation bands.]
