Remote Quantum Cryptography information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote quantum cryptography roles, and how can they be addressed?

Remote quantum cryptography professionals often encounter challenges such as staying current with rapidly evolving quantum technologies, ensuring secure communication over distributed networks, and collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams. To address these, it's important to engage in continuous learning through industry publications and training, utilize secure and robust remote collaboration tools, and participate in regular virtual meetings to align with team objectives. Building a strong network with peers and mentors can also help in navigating technical complexities and staying informed about the latest advancements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Quantum Cryptography Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Quantum Cryptography Specialist, you need a solid background in quantum mechanics, cryptography, and computer science, often supported by an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in physics, mathematics, or a related field. Familiarity with quantum key distribution protocols, programming languages such as Python or C++, and experience with quantum computing frameworks like Qiskit or Cirq are typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective remote communication are crucial soft skills for excelling in this role. These skills are vital for developing secure quantum communication systems and collaborating with distributed teams to protect data against emerging cyber threats.

What is remote quantum cryptography?

Remote quantum cryptography refers to the use of quantum mechanics principles to secure communications between parties located in different places, often over the internet or long distances. This approach leverages quantum key distribution (QKD), which ensures that encryption keys are exchanged in a way that is theoretically immune to eavesdropping. Remote quantum cryptography is considered highly secure because any attempt to intercept or measure the quantum keys disturbs them, alerting the communicating parties to potential security breaches. It is increasingly being explored for applications in finance, government, and other sectors requiring advanced data protection.

About SafeLogic

SafeLogic is a trusted cryptography software and services partner enabling enduring privacy, security, and compliance in an ever-evolving digital landscape. Our proven, validated cryptographic software accelerates the adoption of FIPS 140-validated classical and post-quantum cryptography, helping technology vendors meet rigorous regulatory requirements and enter regulated markets faster. Trusted by many of the world's leading technology companies, SafeLogic reduces the time, effort, and cost of achieving and maintaining compliance while delivering strong, interoperable, and future-ready cryptographic solutions.

The Role

SafeLogic is seeking an experienced Account Executive to drive revenue growth by owning the full sales cycle—from initial engagement through close. You will work closely with Marketing, Solutions Engineering, and leadership to identify qualified opportunities, deeply understand customer needs, and position SafeLogic as a long-term strategic partner.

This role offers meaningful ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to help define and scale our go-to-market motion.

What You'll Do

  • Own and manage the full sales cycle for mid-market and enterprise accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders
  • Lead discovery conversations to uncover customer challenges, requirements, and buying criteria
  • Clearly articulate SafeLogic's value to security-, compliance-, and engineering-focused buyers
  • Partner with Solutions Engineering to deliver effective demos, evaluations, and proof points
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM hygiene
  • Collaborate with Marketing on outbound efforts and campaign follow-up
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
  • Represent SafeLogic at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience as an Account Executive or in a comparable closing role
  • Proven experience selling B2B software
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
  • Experience selling to product groups (CPO, Product Managers) and/or technical buyers (security, engineering, compliance, or infrastructure teams)
  • Ability to leverage your network to generate new business opportunities
  • Strong discovery, qualification, and negotiation skills
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
  • Highly organized with disciplined pipeline and time management
  • Self-starter with a bias toward action and accountability
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% for customer and industry engagements

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling security, cryptography, or compliance-driven solutions
  • Familiarity with long, complex sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying processes
  • Startup or high-growth company experience
  • Experience selling into regulated industries such as government, defense, finance, or healthcare

Why SafeLogic

  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
  • Flexible work environment
  • Collaborative, experienced teammates who value clarity, ownership, and results
  • Direct impact on company growth and go-to-market strategy
