The Director of Platforms at Quantum Corporation will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our HW Platforms portfolio and implement formal practices for Compatibility, Performance, and Security. This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering Quantum’s HW Platforms roadmaps to meet evolving market demands and customer needs, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Responsible for execution of Quantum’s vision and strategy across all HW Platform lines.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for each HW platform aligned with business goals.
    • Identify emerging technologies and market trends to inform Platform direction.
  • Product Lifecycle Management
    • Responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle: concept, design, development, launch, and post-launch optimization.
    • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet customer expectations.
    • Align platforms direction and roadmap with contract manufacturing and OEM partners
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to ensure successful platform launches and adoption.
    • Act as the primary liaison between key functional stakeholder groups and the platform teams.
    • Collaborate with Engineering to implement, evolve, and improve Agile Scrum processes for Platforms, Compatibility, Performance, and Security
  • Market & Customer Insights
    • Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify opportunities.
    • Gather and prioritize customer requirements to influence Platform decisions.
    • Establish a Voice of the Customer and Market Sensing processes and functions across internal and external stakeholders
  • Team Development
    • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Platforms team.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Implement modern tools and integrate AI technologies into core Platforms processes and functions to increase quality, efficiency, consistency, and repeatability of work products and deliverables
  • Performance & Metrics
    • Define and track KPIs for product success, including revenue growth, adoption rates, and customer satisfaction.
    • Present product performance insights and strategic recommendations to leadership.
    • Establish and manage quarterly OKR’s for the Platform teams

Qualifications 

  • Education: 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
    • MBA is desirable but not required.
  • Experience:
    • 15+ years in product/platform management, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
    • Proven track record of managing complex product/platform portfolios in technology or data solutions.
  • Skills:
    • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
    • Deep understanding of storage, data management, and emerging technologies.
    • Outstanding problem-solving skills – ability to define and structure problems, collect and analyze data, and synthesize defendable recommendations into actionable plans
    • Ability to lead, influence, and hold cross-functional teams accountable
    • Clear, effective communication and strong presentation skills with a keen ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences
    • Experience with Agile Scrum development methodologies and understanding of software development processes
    • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing HW platforms through their lifecycle
    • A passion for technology and ability to stay on top of evolving market trends and technology advancements
    • Strong business technical acumen, with a demonstrated track record of delivering enterprise-grade software capabilities
    • Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills – with the ability to develop work in relationships at all levels of the organization, both inside and outside of Quantum
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a remote/hybrid environment
    • Ability to travel as required.

Anticipated Base Salary Earnings Range: $160,000 - $210,000 

The above pay range represents Quantum's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Pay within or outside of the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, knowledge/education, skills/abilities, internal equity, and budgetary considerations.
