What Are Remote QA Jobs?

Remote QA jobs are remote software development or engineering quality assurance jobs, such as QA analyst or engineer. The responsibilities of a remote QA worker are to test products, such as mobile apps or software updates, and ensure they have no bugs and are ready for additional beta testing or general use. Their duties include working with developers to create scripts, testing software performance under different conditions, making a record of any quality assurance issues, presenting a report of these issues to developers or programmers, and rechecking the software products after changes. The qualifications to get a remote QA job include a bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.

What are Remote QA jobs?

Remote QA (Quality Assurance) jobs involve testing software, applications, or systems to ensure they meet specified requirements and are free of defects, all while working from a remote location. Remote QA professionals use various tools to identify bugs, document issues, and collaborate with development teams online. They may perform manual testing, automated testing, or both, depending on the project's needs. This role requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and familiarity with QA methodologies and tools.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote QA professionals and how can they be effectively addressed?

Remote QA professionals often face challenges such as communication barriers with development teams, staying aligned on project requirements, and managing test environments independently. These challenges can be addressed by leveraging collaboration tools like Slack or Jira, maintaining clear and regular communication through daily stand-ups or video calls, and using cloud-based testing platforms to ensure consistency. Proactively documenting processes and test results also helps keep everyone on the same page and ensures a high standard of quality is maintained, even when working remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote QA (Quality Assurance) Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote QA Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of software development and testing methodologies, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with test management tools (like JIRA or TestRail), automation frameworks (such as Selenium), and relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are commonly expected. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and effective bug reporting. These skills ensure the delivery of high-quality software products and seamless teamwork in a distributed environment.

Job description

Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

EnFin is seeking a highly motivated Incentive Revenue Coordinator to support incentive program execution, documentation accuracy, and funding readiness across the TPO lifecycle. This role centralizes fragmented incentive workflows and ensures all projects meet program requirements to successfully secure and monetize incentive revenue. This role is operational in nature and focused on execution, tracking, and compliance. It does not determine incentive eligibility policy or program design but ensures all required data, documentation, and submission requirements are accurate, complete, and aligned so projects can progress efficiently and reach funding and investor-acceptable status.

This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA with an in-office schedule that is set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own end-to-end incentive application coordination across assigned pipeline, including submission, tracking, and status management.
  • Prepare, validate, and submit incentive applications across programs (e.g., SREC, VPP, IL Shines, DG rebates).
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with program requirements prior to submission.
  • Track incentive applications from submission through approval, payment, and closeout.
  • Identify and resolve defects preventing incentive approval, funding, or monetization.
  • Drive projects to incentive-ready and funding-ready status through data correction and document alignment.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews across incentive documentation, system data, and submission packages.
  • Maintain and govern incentive trackers, spreadsheets, and system updates to ensure data integrity.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Engineering) to gather required inputs and resolve discrepancies.
  • Partner with external stakeholders including utilities, program administrators, and third-party vendors.
  • Investigate rejected or flagged applications, perform root cause analysis, and drive resubmissions.
  • Track and manage assigned pipelines to meet throughput, aging, and program deadline requirements.
  • Produce clear reporting on incentive status, risks, and pipeline performance.
  • Identify recurring defects and escalate systemic issues to support process improvement.
  • Partner with Process Improvement, Product, and Operations teams to enhance incentive workflows and reduce defects.
  • Process incoming checks, route them to the Enfin deposit lockbox, and update payment records in the incentive tracker.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or related field or equivalent practical experience in operations, project management, or data-driven roles.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in solar, operations, or program coordination, ideally within document-heavy or compliance-driven workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies across systems and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a bias toward execution and resolution.
  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams including operations, vendors, and finance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, start-up environment with a collaborative and results-oriented approach.
  • Comfort working with CRM systems such as Salesforce, spreadsheets, portals, and operational tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with solar incentive programs (SREC markets, IL Shines, DG rebates, VPP programs).
  • Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and solar project lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting QA/QC, compliance, or documentation review functions.
  • Experience working with external program administrators or utilities.
