Job description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and relationship-driven Community Liaison/Property Coordinator in North Central Arizona to lead outreach, stakeholder engagement, and community partnership initiatives that support our environmental services programs and projects. This role serves as a key liaison between the organization and the communities we serve, helping to build trust, increase public awareness, and foster meaningful partnerships that advance environmental stewardship and community resilience.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys connecting with people, organizing events, and promoting initiatives that create positive environmental and social impacts.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement community engagement and outreach programs that support environmental services projects and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, nonprofit partners, educational institutions, government agencies, and local stakeholders.
  • Coordinate volunteer events, environmental cleanups, educational workshops, and community service activities.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, conferences, public events, and stakeholder forums.
  • Support public involvement efforts for environmental, sustainability, infrastructure, and resiliency projects.
  • Create and distribute outreach materials, presentations, newsletters, and digital content to promote programs and events.
  • Collaborate with project teams, communications staff, and leadership to ensure consistent messaging and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Track outreach activities, participation metrics, and community feedback to measure program effectiveness.
  • Assist with sponsorships, charitable giving programs, and community partnership opportunities.
  • Respond to community inquiries and help address stakeholder concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Environmental Science, Community Development, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, outreach, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events and community programs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience addressing the concerns of communities on or near CERCLA sites during active ground-disturbing work.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience providing timely updates about upcoming/ongoing work to communities through the distribution of flyers, emails, fact sheets, and/or social media notices and/or public meetings.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Environmental Science, Community Development, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting environmental, sustainability, infrastructure, disaster recovery, or community resilience programs.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, public involvement requirements, or environmental justice initiatives.
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, specifically EPA and USACE, or community-based organizations, specifically EPA and USACE

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 Per Year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
