NIHB is seeking a Project Coordinator to assist with various projects related to public health infrastructure and capacity. The Project Coordinator is a member of the Tribal Health Programs division and supports the successful execution of public health projects by collaborating closely with project teams, Tribal partners, and stakeholders. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Coordinator ensures smooth project implementation by promoting team cohesion and efficient workflow, aligning activities with the NIHB’s mission of advancing health equity for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. This is a highly collaborative position supporting a national public health initiative. The Coordinator will perform programmatic, communication, administrative, and writing activities for the Public Health in Indian Country Capacity Scan (PHICCs) initiative and related Tribal public health projects. The Coordinator will contribute to project implementation by coordinating meetings, tracking timelines and deliverables, maintaining project documentation, supporting the development and implementation of Tribal public health assessments and surveys, editing and formatting reports and other project deliverables, and interpreting and translating assessment findings into reports, summaries, presentations, and other written materials for a variety of audiences. The position also supports activities related to Tribal public health infrastructure, performance management, workforce development, core competencies, and training and capacity building.

• Work closely with project teams to promote open communication, collaboration, and information sharing. Serve as a primary point of contact for project coordination, helping ensure team members are informed, connected, and supported.
• Coordinate and support public health projects within the THP department. Help teams track project timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of project activities. Plan and coordinate team meetings, ensuring that agendas are clear, and all team members have the resources they need to contribute effectively. Facilitate meeting logistics and ensure that followup actions are documented and communicated to team members.
• Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation. Assist with preparing project status updates, reports, summaries, and other written materials that support project activities.
• Provide administrative support to the team, including coordinating schedules, managing travel arrangements, and organizing logistics for projectrelated activities such as workshops and conferences.
• Collaborate with team members to engage Tribal organizations and stakeholders. Ensure that outreach activities are planned in a cohesive manner and reflect the collective efforts and input of the project team.
• Communicate potential project challenges to the Program Manager and project team, assist with identifying solutions, and help coordinate adjustments to project timelines and workflow as needed.
• Support engagement activities with Tribal organizations and stakeholders by coordinating communications, scheduling meetings, and assisting with outreach efforts.
• Manage assigned responsibilities, coordinate project activities, prioritize multiple tasks, and communicate potential challenges to the Program Manager while helping identify solutions.
• Incorporate the mission and values of NIHB in all project work.

POSITION- RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate and support activities necessary to develop national Tribal assessment and related environmental scans on the state of public health programming, services, workforce and capacity in Indian Country. This may include (but is not limited to):
• Coordinate and support survey and resource development;
• Coordinate document review and submission processes, including Office of Management and Budget (OMB) clearance and other required approvals;
• Coordinate survey implementation activities including project timelines, survey logistics, communications, and tracking;
• Support basic qualitative and quantitative public health data analysis (such as qualitative thematic scoring, development of basic graphics, and contributing to analysis planning);
• Assist with interpreting and translating public health data and assessment findings into reports, summaries, presentations, and other written materials for a variety of audiences;
• Coordinate the dissemination of the PHICCS report, related resources, and assessment findings. Serves as a contributing author in the development of publications, reports, and briefs related to findings from national assessments including editing, formatting, writing, drafting and coordinating content.
• Increase Tribal engagement with, and utilization of national assessment findings by developing and disseminating educational programming and materials and building key partnerships;
• Coordinate, support, develop and provide virtual and inperson presentations, trainings, and regular updates on scan development, activities, and progress;
• Facilitate opportunities for Tribal stakeholders and Tribal public health capacity advisory groups to inform national assessment and scan activities;
• Provide Tribal public health infrastructure and capacityrelated technical assistance directly to Tribes, coworkers, and external partners;
• Coordinate and host education and training opportunities including ongoing virtual and in person learning communities on best practices related to Tribal public health capacity and infrastructure.
REQUIRED:
• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
• 35+ years of experience in project coordination, particularly within a teamoriented environment preferred, however a combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience understanding and communicating quantitative and qualitative data.
• Strong skills and experience writing formal reports, summaries, presentations, and other written material for a variety of audiences and/or other technical writing.
• Familiarity with AI/AN health, Tribal health systems, and key public health frameworks (i.e. Social Determinants of Health, 10 Essential Public Health Services, etc.)
• Strong team collaboration skills, including the ability to facilitate group discussions and promote a teamfirst approach.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage the needs of multiple team members and projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on keeping team members informed and aligned.
• Experience facilitating virtual and inperson meetings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management software, and tools for team collaboration.
• Experience utilizing a variety of virtual platforms to coordinate, facilitate, and troubleshoot virtual meetings, webinars, and trainings.
• Flexibility to work across varied projects and subject matters.
PREFERRED:
• Basic understanding of mixedmethods data analysis and/or research.
• Experience working with AI/AN communities, Tribal Governments, Tribal organizations or Indigenous populations.
