As a remote mental health counselor, you will operate from the comfort of your own home while contributing to a collaborative virtual team atmosphere. Our digital workspace is equipped with the necessary tools and platforms, including electronic health record systems like AVATAR, which streamline client management and enhance communication across care teams. This position allows for flexible scheduling while maintaining a consistent approach to client care.

• Conduct initial assessments and detailed psychiatric evaluations to determine clients' mental and emotional health.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that specifically address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging therapy sessions, both individually and in group settings, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and modalities.
• Regularly monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary in response to client feedback and clinical assessment.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical staff, to ensure holistic care approaches.
• Provide follow-up support for clients discharged from inpatient settings, assisting in their transition and sustained recovery.
• Educate and support families and caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges affecting their loved ones.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State is essential.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health counseling, with a deep understanding of therapeutic frameworks and intervention strategies.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, and telehealth platforms to facilitate remote care.
• Experience working with clients dealing with complex co-occurring conditions, including physical health issues and addiction.
• Knowledge of best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to clearly articulate treatment goals and progress to clients and their support networks.
