Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and utilizing agency resources to support client care and enhance service delivery.
  • Completing comprehensive agency orientation to familiarize yourself with policies, procedures, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Preparing for client sessions by reviewing case notes, conducting necessary research, and evaluating client concerns and progress.
  • Engaging in small group supervision and seminar preparations, including analyzing video recordings for clinical improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed client records in both written and electronic formats, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Coordinating services with partner agencies, effectively communicating to bridge resources and support for client needs.
  • Researching evidence-based practices tailored to meet the unique needs of your clients as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Conducting client consultations and collaborating with other agency professionals to foster comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Writing thorough case notes, assessments, and evaluations that inform client progress and treatment adjustments.
  • Contributing to the development of Individual Treatment Plans (ITP) to ensure personalized care for each client.
  • Assisting treating therapists with scoring, interpreting, and reporting psychometric assessments to guide therapeutic decisions.
