Flexibility in schedule allows you to balance your professional and personal commitments, with a standard workweek running from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify their specific care needs, diving deep into their histories, emotional states, and psychological challenges.
• Provide tailored individual and group counseling sessions aimed at managing emotional challenges related to aging, loss, and life transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans that address both physical and mental health for geriatric patients.
• Engage in educational sessions with staff and families, providing insights on coping strategies that can enhance the emotional well-being and quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for residents and their families navigating end-of-life issues, creating a safe space for expression and healing.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs and evidence-based mental health interventions to promote active and healthy aging among clients.

Your primary focus will be on elderly individuals who are confronting various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment issues related to aging. Many of our clients are likely experiencing significant life changes, such as loss of loved ones, health deterioration, or isolation. You will play a vital role in helping them adapt to these transitions, ensuring they receive the emotional and psychological support they need.

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of four years of recent experience providing counseling services specifically focused on the geriatric population.
• Formal training or specialization in geriatric mental health and age-related challenges.
• Proven ability to deliver effective counseling techniques tailored to elderly individuals experiencing a range of mental health issues.
• A strong understanding of evidence-based practices in promoting mental well-being in older adults.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that foster trusting relationships with clients.
• Empathy and cultural sensitivity to support a diverse client base, recognizing and respecting different backgrounds and life experiences.
• Capability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• A solid grasp of ethical and legal standards pertinent to geriatric mental health counseling.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering grief counseling, especially in contexts involving end-of-life care.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual counseling tools, enabling effective remote patient engagement.
• A track record of working with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, we offer a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Benefits include:
