Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, with opportunities to engage directly with clients in our outpatient clinic. The core hours of operation are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility in work arrangements is provided to support optimal work-life integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific psychological and emotional needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing emotional difficulties stemming from aging, loss, and life transitions.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that align with each client's unique circumstances.
  • Educate client's families and other staff members on techniques and strategies to enhance the emotional well-being and overall quality of life for seniors.
  • Facilitate grief and loss counseling, providing support to clients and their families coping with end-of-life issues.
  • Implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions designed to promote mental acuity and emotional resilience in elderly clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role centers on elderly individuals who may be experiencing a range of mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, grief, and cognitive decline. We specialize in offering therapeutic support tailored specifically to senior clients, who often face unique challenges related to aging and significant life changes. Understanding their diverse backgrounds and experiences is crucial for improving client outcomes.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Current, valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in providing mental health support and counseling to geriatric clients, with demonstrable expertise in addressing age-related psychological issues.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions specifically applicable to the older adult population.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with senior clients and their families.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialized training or certifications in geriatric mental health or aging-related issues.

Compensation and Benefits
