• Provide personalized therapy strategies to clients, incorporating comprehensive assessments to identify unique needs and challenges.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, families, and groups, employing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement well-rounded treatment plans that support clients' mental health goals.
• Maintain meticulous and current clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring accurate records of all client interactions and treatment progress.
• Engage in continuous professional development through workshops and training sessions to enhance your knowledge of the latest advancements in mental health research.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Small Steps Psychological Services, you will work primarily with individuals and families facing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting clients who are often underserved, providing them with the tools and strategies necessary for healing and growth.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• An active and unrestricted Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of Connecticut.
• A minimum of two years of counseling experience, specifically in a clinical setting.
• A strong understanding of legal and ethical standards in the mental health field.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build rapport with a diverse clientele, and effective communication abilities.
• Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a healthcare team.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) software and telehealth technologies.

• Experience or specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse treatment is highly desirable.
• Acknowledge the complexity of mental health issues and employ varied therapeutic techniques to address them.

The salary for this full-time Licensed Professional Counselor position ranges from USD 70,000 to USD 90,000 yearly, depending on experience and caseload.
