Remote Provider Engagement information

What is a remote provider engagement specialist?

A Remote Provider Engagement specialist is a professional who works with healthcare providers, such as doctors and clinics, to build and maintain effective relationships, typically from a remote or virtual location. Their main responsibilities include facilitating communication between healthcare organizations and providers, ensuring providers have the resources and support they need, and promoting participation in network programs or initiatives. They use digital tools like video calls, emails, and online platforms to engage with providers, address concerns, and provide education. This role is crucial for improving provider satisfaction and ensuring efficient healthcare delivery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote provider engagement specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Provider Engagement Specialist, you need strong interpersonal communication, healthcare industry knowledge, and experience with provider relations—often supported by a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software, teleconferencing tools, and healthcare data management systems is typically required. Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused mindset help professionals excel in engaging and supporting providers remotely. These skills ensure effective collaboration, improve provider satisfaction, and drive successful healthcare network operations from a distance.

What are some common challenges faced in a remote provider engagement role, and how can I overcome them?

A common challenge in Remote Provider Engagement roles is building strong relationships and fostering collaboration with providers when interactions are primarily virtual. It can be difficult to establish trust and effective communication without in-person meetings. To overcome this, it's important to utilize clear and consistent communication, leverage video conferencing tools to personalize interactions, and ensure timely follow-up on provider concerns. Staying organized and proactive in addressing provider needs can also help build rapport and maintain productive partnerships.

Job Description:

GDIT's Federal Health team if hiring a Provider Relations Account Manager to support the ThirdParty Administrator (TPA)for theWorld Trade Center (WTC) Health Program

This position is remote, but occasional travel may be required for meetings with CCEs, CDC stakeholders, or internal leadership.

Summary:

The CCE Account Manager serves as the primary operational liaison between the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP) Third-Party Administrator (TPA) and Clinical Centers of Excellence (CCEs).

This role is responsible for maintaining strong, mission-driven partnerships with CCE leadership; coordinating operational needs across internal TPA teams; and ensuring that each CCE receives the services, tools, data, and network support necessary to deliver high-quality care and case management to WTCHP members.

This position is uniquely suited to individuals with direct, hands-on experience working with WTCHP CCEs prior to the current TPA contract. Candidates without this experience will not be considered. Deep familiarity with the organizational structures, operational workflows, and program requirements of all eight CCEs is essential.

The CCE Account Manager will function as the internal subject matter expert (SME) on CCE needs and processes and will partner with Benefits Administration, Member Services, Claims, Provider Network Management, and Operations leadership to drive cross-CLIN execution and continuous improvement. The role reports to the Provider Network Lead and is fully remote.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Serve as the central point of contact for all WTCHP CCEs, ensuring clear communication, timely issue resolution, and strong program alignment.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with CCE leadership to promote transparency, trust, and long-term partnership success.
  • Act as the internal SME for CCE-specific workflows, including case management models, member coordination processes, unique operational needs, and interactions with the TPA provider network.
  • Coordinate internal execution of CCE needs by working closely with Benefits Administration, Member Services, Claims, Provider Network Management, and Operations leadership.
  • Support the implementation of new operational initiatives, service delivery enhancements, and process improvements that affect CCEs.
  • Build and reinforce a culture of collaboration, accountability, customer service excellence, and continuous process improvement across all provider engagement activities.
  • Facilitate regular business reviews with CCEs to discuss performance metrics, operational priorities, quality initiatives, compliance requirements, and strategic objectives.
  • Provide CCE-focused insights to TPA leadership to inform program operations, member experience enhancements, and provider network strategies.
  • Support the delivery of CCE-related data, reporting, and tools, ensuring alignment with CDC guidelines and WTCHP program requirements.
  • Manage escalations and coordinate internally to resolve member-impacting issues, ensuring appropriate follow-through and timely closure.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the WTCHP mission and ensure that all provider engagement activities reflect the program's commitment to 9/11 responders and survivors.

What You'll Need (required):

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience (work experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Functional knowledge of all eight CCEs, including their structures, workflows, and operational practices.
  • Experience supporting or collaborating with federal healthcare programs, including familiarity with CDC program standards and compliance expectations.
  • Proven ability to manage executive-level provider relationships within large academic medical centers or integrated health systems.
  • Strong operational coordination skills with the ability to translate complex program needs into internal action plans.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to manage escalations and drive resolution across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications (preferred):

  • Prior experience working with WTCHP Clinical Centers of Excellence.
  • Experience with WTCHP operations prior to the TPA contract transition.
  • Background in provider network management, healthcare operations, care coordination, or case management programs.
  • Experience leading operational improvement initiatives within multi-stakeholder healthcare environments.
  • Familiarity with data reporting workflows or program compliance processes within federal health programs.

Competencies:

  • Mission-driven mindset with a deep commitment to supporting 9/11 responders and survivors.
  • Strong relationship management and diplomacy skills, including comfort engaging with senior CCE leadership.
  • Ability to drive coordination across multiple internal teams and ensure accountability for CCE needs.
  • Skilled at balancing high-level strategic understanding with attention to detailed operational requirements.
  • Exercises sound judgment and operates with integrity, transparency, and a service-oriented approach.
The likely salary range for this position is $107,744 - $125,350. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
