About the Opportunity:
The AD, Digital Engagement will be responsible for driving digital engagement through strategies, tactics, and tools such as digital marketing, marketing automation, and oversight of the WES website to support WES' vision, mission, strategic priorities and influence goals. You will have deep experience and skills across digital engagement and marketing, including strong knowledge of SEO standards and practices and digital tech stacks, which you will leverage to identify ways to engage with key audiences and achieve the impact and influence goals. You will manage across a focused internal and external digital engagement team, leading and developing them to work as an effective, integrated, and innovative unit that meets the needs of the organization and furthers the WES brand, mission and impact.
What You'll Do:
  • Leads the development and execution of a digital strategy across WES digital properties and digital channels (including marketing automation, WES.org and French translation), ensuring alignment with organizational vision, mission, strategic priorities and influence goals, positioning WES as thought leader.
  • Works closely with the Director of Brand & Content to ensure social media strategy and content integrate seamlessly with broader digital efforts.
  • Measures and continually improves the quality and impact of digital engagement efforts. Establishes and manages a dashboard of performance metrics with real-time feedback loops to guide continuous improvement across digital properties.
  • Lead activities, approaches, systems and workplans to ensure overall cohesion across digital properties.
  • Manages the digital engagement team, ensuring that they are operating as an integrated, collaborative and effective unit and leveraging expertise and continually challenging approaches, introducing new and innovative ways of engaging with external audiences.
  • Manage the relationship with vendors, ensuring that they are operating in line with WES strategy, values, and best interests, and that any services provided are delivered in line with the organizational expectations and managed to budget and time.
  • Manages and optimizes the Communications department's technology stack.
  • Stay updated on digital engagement trends, changes and innovations, sharing insights confidently with the wider team.

Your Experience:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in progressively senior digital marketing and engagement roles within the US and/or Canada.
  • Proven ability to become a trusted advisor to business leaders and other influencers at all organizational levels, based on subject matter expertise and collaborative leadership style.
  • Creative, strategic thinker with a passion for WES' work and a passion for digital engagement.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful digital engagement strategies and campaigns that drive engagement, impact and awareness.
  • Expertise in all major social media platforms and understanding of which platforms work most effectively with which audiences and personas.
  • Experience in influencer marketing and developing high-quality social content.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with marketing tools, web analytics and traffic optimization including Google Analytics, LinkedIn/Facebook/Instagram/Twitter advertising campaign platforms, Google Ads, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Google Analytics, Looker Studio, SEO, AEO/GEO, Marketo, Hootsuite and WordPress, Salesforce, with a point of view on what an optimum tech stack looks like for the enterprise and proven ability to translate data and trends into actionable, brand-building improvements.
  • Excellent grasp of digital and email marketing best practices, with strong familiarity with key anti-spam and compliance laws as well as website accessibility standards.
  • Experience of managing external vendors and agencies.
  • Has a proven track record and deep experience of broad thinking and using innovative approaches to achieve influence goals.
  • Understands and has strong experience of implementing strategies, processes, and frameworks that leverage the connective and influential power of communications across organizations, systems and networks.
  • Experience managing a team of communications professionals.
  • Deep interest in WES' work and understanding of the external landscape.
