What is remote property management?

Remote property management is the practice of overseeing and maintaining rental properties from a distance, without being physically present at the property location. This can be done using digital tools, such as property management software, virtual tours, and online communication platforms, to handle tasks like tenant screening, rent collection, maintenance coordination, and responding to tenant inquiries. Remote property managers often work with local vendors or on-site staff to address issues that require a physical presence. This approach enables landlords and property managers to efficiently manage properties in different locations, save time, and reduce the need for on-site visits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote property manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Property Manager, you need strong organizational skills, knowledge of property management practices, and typically a background in real estate or property management certification. Familiarity with property management software (such as AppFolio or Buildium), virtual communication tools, and online payment systems is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills help build trust with tenants and owners while efficiently handling issues from a distance. These abilities ensure smooth operations, tenant satisfaction, and effective oversight of properties without being physically on-site.

What are the main challenges faced by property managers working remotely, and how can they be addressed?

Remote property managers often face challenges such as coordinating maintenance or repairs from a distance, ensuring clear communication with tenants and contractors, and staying organized across multiple properties. Utilizing reliable property management software and digital communication tools can help streamline operations and maintain strong relationships with both tenants and service providers. Regular virtual check-ins and clear protocols for handling emergencies are also crucial for effective remote management.

Lease Up- On Site Property Manager

ResiHome

Wesley Chapel, FL โ€ข Remote

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Job description

Same grind, or something new?

If you've spent your career in property management, you know the drill: the application backlog, the screening queue, the lease packets stacking up while the community you're supposed to be building waits on the back burner. The admin swallows the job — and the part you actually love (being out in your community, leasing, taking care of your residents) gets squeezed into whatever's left.

We're rewriting that script. - WANT TO LEARN MORE? http://www.resihome.com/join

ResiHome is a tech-enabled, full-service property management company — and we've intentionally lifted the administrative weight off our On-Site Property Managers. Application processing, screening, and lease generation are handled centrally through a hands-off process. Our AI-enhanced platform gives you real-time insight into how to structure your day. A dedicated Maintenance Coordinator takes the back-and-forth of vendor scheduling off your plate. Every department behind you is built to support the person in the field — because that's where the real work happens.

The result is a role that looks almost nothing like the one you're used to. Less paperwork, more community. Less data entry, more leasing. Less chasing, more building. You'll be the face of your community and the owner of its success — out in the field, touring prospects, walking your homes, hosting events, and turning a collection of houses into a place people want to live.

This is a field | On-Site based position.

What's in it for you

Honestly, too many perks to list — but here's a start:

  • A generous PTO and paid holiday schedule

  • A 90 Day Training Mentorship during onboarding

  • A robust compensation package, including leasing incentives and profit sharing

  • A strong 401(k) program with matching

  • A full suite of medical, vision, and dental benefits

  • Company health and wellness initiatives: 24/7 Telemed Care, Employee Assistance Program, and access to our mobile wellness platform designed to support your daily health goals.

What your day looks like

Lease and grow the community

  • Prospect. Manage day-to-day leads and prospects, run relentless follow-ups, and convert at a high level.

  • Engage in proactive direct outreach to leads and residents without hesitation, and handle difficult conversations with confidence.

  • Serve as the on-site lead representative —conduct home tours and present home features and community benefits.

  • Drive grass-roots marketing and community awareness; host local and community events that put ResiHome on the map.

  • Stay sharp on market conditions and competitor trends to inform your leasing strategy and outreach.

Own the community on the ground

  • Complete weekly walks of your community.

  • Ensure enhanced curb appeal and brand-standard presentation across common areas and homes.

  • Complete sparkle cleans on vacant homes so every move-in feels exceptional.

  • Perform Pre-Move-In and Post-Move-Out inspections; document move-out condition to support the statement of deposit accounting and the scope of work for turns.

  • Partner with on-site construction project managers on new construction delivery and final acceptance.

Serve residents and run the operation

  • Deliver an exceptional resident experience through move-ins, move-outs, issue resolution, and on-site needs.

  • Respond to and promptly mitigate resident concerns; keep the maintenance pipeline moving with support from your Maintenance Coordinator.

  • Manage and resolve past-due balances, and drive renewals and occupancy toward your financial targets.

  • Own weekly reporting and represent your community in client meetings.

  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA, and state-specific landlord/tenant laws and lease documentation; coordinate with internal teams on HOA and code-enforcement matters.

Who thrives here

This role is for someone with an ownership spirit — a person who feels personally responsible for every corner of their community, from a home in turn to a brand-new construction delivery. We need a hunter: someone who spots problems before they surface and turns them into solutions, who's hungry for leasing and not afraid to pick up the phone, knock on a door, or build grass-roots awareness from the ground up.

At ResiHome, everyone picks up the trash — from the CEO to the groundskeeper. If that mentality resonates with you, keep reading.

Because so much of the administrative load is centralized, our On-Site Property Managers often work solo in the field. That independence is a feature, not a bug — but it means you'll need genuine self-direction and the organizational muscle to keep three pipelines (Leasing, Maintenance, and Operations) moving at once. You'll live in mobile apps and connected devices, adapt quickly to new technology, and treat our platform as the command center for your day. We do not use traditional big-box CRMs, so comfort with modern, tech-forward tools is essential.

What you bring
  • 3–5 years of leasing/property management experience, preferably in single-family or multi-family housing.

  • A proven track record of driving community awareness and exceptional leasing conversions.

  • Comfort and proven adaptability with modern technology, AI-enabled platforms, mobile apps, and connected devices.

  • Strong self-direction and the organizational skills to manage Leasing, Maintenance, and Operations pipelines independently.

  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and a detail-oriented mindset.

  • Strong customer service, communication, and lead-conversion skills with an energetic, adaptable, professional demeanor.

  • A critical thinker and problem-solver with a true ownership mentality — a hunter who turns problems into solutions.

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (this role requires regular property visits).

  • Working understanding of landlord/tenant laws, lease agreements, and Fair Housing regulations.
