What is remote property management?

Remote property management is the practice of overseeing and maintaining rental properties from a distance, without being physically present at the property location. This can be done using digital tools, such as property management software, virtual tours, and online communication platforms, to handle tasks like tenant screening, rent collection, maintenance coordination, and responding to tenant inquiries. Remote property managers often work with local vendors or on-site staff to address issues that require a physical presence. This approach enables landlords and property managers to efficiently manage properties in different locations, save time, and reduce the need for on-site visits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Property Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Property Manager, you need strong organizational skills, knowledge of property management practices, and typically a background in real estate or property management certification. Familiarity with property management software (such as AppFolio or Buildium), virtual communication tools, and online payment systems is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills help build trust with tenants and owners while efficiently handling issues from a distance. These abilities ensure smooth operations, tenant satisfaction, and effective oversight of properties without being physically on-site.

What are the main challenges faced by property managers working remotely, and how can they be addressed?

Remote property managers often face challenges such as coordinating maintenance or repairs from a distance, ensuring clear communication with tenants and contractors, and staying organized across multiple properties. Utilizing reliable property management software and digital communication tools can help streamline operations and maintain strong relationships with both tenants and service providers. Regular virtual check-ins and clear protocols for handling emergencies are also crucial for effective remote management.

Job description

About Us

The Mosimann Agency is a Pinnacle Elite Allstate agency proudly serving New Mexico. We're a small, high-performing team that believes exceptional service is what keeps customers and what keeps careers growing. We take retention seriously, we track what matters, and we pay well for people who produce.

We're looking for someone who already knows how this industry works and doesn't need to be reminded to pick up the phone.

This is a service-first, performance-driven position for a licensed insurance professional who treats every customer interaction as an opportunity not just a task to close. You'll manage ongoing relationships with an existing book of Allstate customers, handling inbound service requests while proactively building value on every call.

You can expect approximately 6090 inbound calls per week. The rest of your 30-touchpoint daily floor is yours to own through outbound dials, policy review follow-ups, and proactive customer outreach. If the phones are quiet, you don't sit still you dial.

Why This Role

We're a Pinnacle Elite agency with strong retention, real growth goals, and leadership that actually reviews your numbers and shows up for the conversation. We hold clear expectations, pay for performance, and don't micromanage people who produce.

If you've been the person in your office who always did the policy review, always asked for the review, and always wondered why you weren't better compensated for it this is the role you've been waiting for.

Compensation

This role is compensated at an above-market base salary that reflects the scope and self-direction we're asking for. We've intentionally structured this as one strong, well-paid position rather than two average ones so the expectation and the paycheck are both sized accordingly.

Salary commensurate with experience. Active NM P&C license required.

Responsibilities
  • What You'll Do Every Day

  • Answer inbound calls promptly and handle service needs efficiently and with care
  • Work the cancellation and at-risk list daily call, text, and email customers before they're gone. Retention is as important as service, and the outreach queue is there waiting; it just needs someone who actually works it
  • Conduct a policy review on every interaction check liability limits, UM/UIM alignment, towing and rental uniformity, coverage gaps, and bundle opportunities. If they're only with us on one line, find out why
  • Identify and sell cross-sell opportunities across personal lines: renters, umbrellas, specialty lines (ATVs, boats, trailers), and warm referrals to our financial specialist for life insurance, annuities, and retirement products
  • Ask for the Google review confidently, by name, every time you've delivered great service. This directly affects your compensation and ours
  • Document everything in eAgent with well-rounded notes: what was discussed, what was done, and what follow-up is pending. If it isn't in eAgent, it didn't happen
  • Work voicemails and follow-up queues proactively not at the end of the day, and not only when asked
  • Manage your inbox and endorsements efficiently most standard changes (vehicle adds, address updates, mortgagee changes) should take no more than 4 minutes. Email is for gap time between calls, not a reason to go offline
  • Hit your daily minimums independently you track your own production and hold yourself accountable

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Active Property & Casualty or Personal Lines license required (willingness to get non -resident license also required)

Life & Health license a strong plus; willingness to obtain is valued

Allstate agency experience strongly preferred eAgent fluency, RingCentral (or equivalent), and comfort with Allstate personal lines products are genuine differentiators here. We're not training from scratch

A self-starter who keeps their own score. You know what a good day looks like and you build toward it without being managed into it

Cross-sell instincts on both sides you're comfortable identifying P&C opportunities to sell the gaps, and opening the conversation around life coverage and financial referrals

Clean, consistent documentation habits your notes are the record. A customer should be able to call in and have any teammate pick up exactly where you left off

Confidence and warmth on the phone you speak like a licensed advisor, not an order-taker. You ask for the review, you find the coverage gap, you follow up when you said you would

Genuine remote discipline this is a work-from-home position. We trust our people and we verify with numbers. You should be comfortable with both
