Position Overview:
The Senior Project Scheduler will be responsible for working closely with technical experts, project leads and project managers in designing, developing, and managing the Program's Schedule Management Plan (SMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The Senior Project Scheduler will provide project schedule development/maintenance for multiple CCN NG systems related efforts, VFMP efforts, and associated EDI efforts. The scheduler will regularly interact with all project stakeholders including the customer regarding schedule status and schedule metrics. The Senior Project Scheduler will also regularly coordinate with customer, contracts, Project Management Office, and Senior Management teams to set up and review proper inter-dependencies processes, and informs Senior Management and the scheduling team, and produces enterprise-level reports. The ideal candidate should have subject matter knowledge of project schedule development and maintenance, the Agile cadence for development, testing and release, and expertise in coordinating between project stakeholder resources to identify and capture these tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create updated, current project schedules and update and maintain them on a weekly basis.
  • Validate MS Project schedules against current commitments and resource availability via coordinating with the aligned Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Program Manager (PM) for the project and other stakeholders once a week.
  • Identify schedule tasks to be integrated and communicated with larger Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for CCN NG technical readiness and VFMP modernization efforts, and coordinate providing these tasks and updates to the schedulers maintaining those IMS.
  • Develop macros for MS Project to streamline scheduling processes and reduce error.
  • Identify and document dependencies between project schedules; update individual project schedules and coordinate update to impacted IMS for CCN NG or VFMP Modernization accordingly.
  • Recommend mitigation strategies for high-risk milestones.
  • Consolidate updates from weekly project schedule update activity and provide into a structured weekly report artifact for VA PMO leadership.
  • Provide monthly status meeting with VA PMO leadership on successes, challenges, blockers and recommended resolutions related to project schedules creation and maintenance.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project scheduling for large-scale IT or healthcare programs
  • Expertise in MS Project for schedule development and maintenance.
  • Experience integrating schedules into IMS and supporting Agile cadence.
  • Proven work experience with an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Knowledge of both agile and waterfall methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Over 4 years of experience in project scheduling for large-scale IT or healthcare programs.
  • Previous experience working with federal clients like the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), or others.
  • Familiarity with VA or federal program scheduling standards preferred.
  • Experience working in a large healthcare organization such as a hospital, health system, or health insurance company.
