Job description

Summary:
Overview:
As a member of the ASPCA's Project Management Office-part of the Strategy Team-the Senior Project Manager plays a key role in advancing the ASPCA's mission through thoughtful planning, coordination, and execution.
This individual partners across the organization to provide structure and accountability for complex initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with our core value of TEAM. This role is ideal for a highly organized and collaborative project management professional who excels at connecting strategy to execution, leading teams through change, and driving successful outcomes for high-impact organizational initiatives.
Who We Are
At the ASPCA, our Strategy team plays a vital role in advancing the organization's mission to improve the lives of animals through good welfare. We work across programs and partners to spark innovation, strengthen sheltering systems, and drive meaningful, measurable impact. Our team brings together experts in strategy, planning, project portfolio management, research, and impact measurement-each dedicated to helping the ASPCA deliver its highest priorities with clarity, alignment, and purpose.
As part of this group, the Project Management Office (PMO) serves as a strategic engine for execution. Established in 2021, the PMO provides centralized oversight of the ASPCA's project portfolio, ensuring that resources, attention, and efforts are focused where they can drive the greatest value. Through a robust portfolio management framework, the PMO promotes strategic agility, supports dynamic resource alignment, and streamlines delivery so teams can stay focused on improving outcomes for animals.
Together, the Strategy team and PMO foster a collaborative, mission-driven environment where big ideas become actionable plans, cross-functional partnerships thrive, and complex challenges are tackled with creativity and discipline. We're united by a shared commitment to making a measurable difference for animals-and the people who care for them.
What You'll Do
The Senior Project Manager, Project Management Office plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of enterprise initiatives that advance the ASPCA's Strategic Framework. This individual partners closely with project sponsors, team leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure projects are planned, organized, and executed with clarity, accountability, and consistency.
The ideal candidate brings strong project management expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple complex initiatives simultaneously. They will provide strategic oversight and day-to-day management of large-scale projects, helping teams establish clear goals, manage timelines and scope, mitigate risks, and maintain momentum from project initiation through completion.
To thrive in this role, they will need excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to lead productive meetings, foster engagement, and coach teams toward successful outcomes. They must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and building strong relationships across diverse stakeholders while maintaining focus on organizational goals.
A successful Senior Project Manager combines sharp critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset. This individual understands how strategic priorities translate into operational work, takes ownership of outcomes, and is able to adapt and pivot when circumstances change. They bring creativity, compassion, and a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring projects are delivered with excellence and lasting impact.
Where and When You'll Work
  • This remote-based position (which requires travel, as described below) is open to all candidates based within the United States.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% annually of the time as needed.
