Job description

Williams College is seeking a Budget Manager for Capital and Treasury to join the College's Budget team. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for creating and managing the College's capital budgets and cash management. This position will lead the development of projections and forecast models for capital projects and cash needs from the Long Term Investment Pool.

Responsibilities:

  • Liquidity and Cash Flow Analysis: Develop and maintain cash flow and liquidity forecasts, while modeling cash impacts under multiple operating and capital scenarios. Utilize AI tools and assist the team in using AI to build financial models and treasury reports.
  • Capital and Debt Analysis: Support debt affordability and capacity modeling and analyze the impacts of potential debt issuance, capital timing and fundraising goals.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with Facilities and Planning, Design and Construction on a quarterly and annual basis to report on major construction and renewal project budgets and actuals. Set up new projects and budgets in Workday for reporting to Senior Leadership and the Board of Trustees.
  • Operating Budget: Support the Senior Budget Manager and the Director of Planning and Analysis with the development, collection and summarization of operating requests for review by Senior Staff and the Committee on Priorities and resources.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field, with a minimum of 5 years experience in treasury, cash or budget management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with designing and executing strategy-based financial analyses, including scenario modeling.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and creative problem solving skills with the ability to manage large amounts of data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, MPA or Masters in Finance preferred
  • Experience in higher education, Workday and cash management tools preferred

Remote Work Policy: Hybrid on-site/remote work arrangements may be available for up to 2 days of remote work per week for employees based in MA, NY, CT, or VT. Flexible work arrangements may be considered contingent on operational needs and other factors, and must be reviewed and approved via the appropriate college processes.

Application review will begin on August 27, 2026. Pay range is from $95,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience.
