What you will do

The Senior Manager, Compliance PMO is responsible for leading the project management office across the global Compliance department to ensure the department effectively enables Stryker's business results and manages risk. In leading the project management function, this position partners with the global Compliance leadership team to drive strategic work in support of short- and long-term priorities, vision, and strategy. This position utilizes an effective project management framework to accelerate implementation of the strategy and goals with efficient and reliable planning and execution and works across the department to set the annual projects and cadence. This position must multi-task in a fast-paced environment, influence and work effectively with senior leaders across the organization, and maintain the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

You will

  • Directly manage and support the Compliance Project Manager(s) and the project management budget.

  • Lead the project management office to ensure the Compliance department effectively enables Stryker's business results and manages risk.

  • Influence and partner with senior leaders within and outside the Compliance organization to lead projects of strategic importance.

  • Translate the vision, mission, and strategy into projects and initiatives with milestones and delivery schedules using an effective project management framework.

  • Manage and influence the resources available to effectively meet planned objectives.

  • Develop strategies and clear action plans with results-oriented goals for measuring success; drive alignment and buy-in across the organization.

  • Serve as program manager for critical projects, driving both strategy and execution.

  • Design and deploy project management best practices and influence the use of these standards across the global Compliance department.

  • Consistently analyze processes and provide recommendations and insight to increase efficiency and effectiveness and help prioritize projects that will be most impactful.

  • Develop and deliver tracking and reporting regarding project progress and budget.

  • Influence and manage stakeholders through collaborative relationships to ensure alignment and effective execution of priorities.

  • Maintain deep knowledge regarding applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards as well as the organization and its operations; provide strategic input on modifications to the Compliance program to reflect changes in external environment or business strategy.

  • Raise awareness of the Program and fosters accountability for ethics and integrity throughout the organization

  • Champion a proactive approach to Compliance that is focused on partnership, prevention and risk mitigation

  • Identify, select, and manage external vendor relationships as needed.

  • Exercise independent judgment to make decisions of significant impact to the company.

  • Develop strong relationships throughout multiple businesses and regions to foster a consistent and collaborative approach to proactive compliance.

  • Establish a strong tone at the top and further the department's strategic priorities.

  • Demonstrate excellent ability to identify issues, engage appropriate stakeholders, complete root cause analysis, and assess effectiveness of solution within area of responsibility.

  • Effectively inspire, educate, and empower others across multiple businesses and functions.

  • Support CCO to build and drive the Compliance strategy, goals, and objectives necessary to enable to key business results and effectively manage risk for the Company.

  • Participate in other Compliance department activities as determined by the Chief Compliance Officer or VP, Compliance Strategy, Risk, and Operations.

What you need

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 10+ years of work experience

  • 7+ years of project management experience

  • 3+ years of direct people leadership experience

  • Experience working in the medical device, pharma, Biotech, or healthcare industries

  • Demonstrates experience with project management tools

Preferred

  • Project management certification such as PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Prosci certified change management certification or similar credential

  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt certification or direct process-project management experience

  • Experience within Healthcare Compliance, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Regulatory/Quality, or Operations function

  • Experience with AdvaMed code and other relevant federal and state reporting requirements, and the current activities and developments involving medical device sales and marketing

  • Demonstrated knowledge and clear understanding of the required elements of effective Compliance programs as outlined in the HHS OIG Compliance Program Guidance and the US Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

  • US5: $142,400 - $237,200 USD Annual
  • US10: $149,200 - $248,500 USD Annual
  • US15: $155,900 - $259,800 USD Annual
  • US20: $162,700 - $271,100 USD Annual
  • US30: $176,300 - $293,700 USD Annual
