Mercer is seeking a Defined Benefit Implementation Project Manager to lead moderately complex to complex projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations, while managing scope, risks, resources, and stakeholder communication.
We Will Count On You To:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of defined benefit implementation projects.
  • Develop and maintain project and risk plans, including scope, schedule, cost, resources, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans to reflect scope changes and evolving business needs.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve project delivery, reporting, operational efficiency, and stakeholder experience where appropriate.
  • Lead project and workstream meetings, documenting actions, decisions, and risks.
  • Communicate clearly with project teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and recommend solutions in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Negotiate resource needs and coordinate effectively across teams.
  • Ensure adherence to project management standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assign and oversee work for junior team members and support staff.
  • Support governance, portfolio oversight, and the continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates, and reporting practices.
What You Need to Have:
  • 5+ years managing moderately complex to complex projects from start to finish.
  • Strong skills in project planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work across teams and influence stakeholders at different levels.
  • Experience identifying practical solutions in complex or unclear situations.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $86,400 to $172,800.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
