Position Overview

As Director, Project Management at TALON, you will lead the planning, governance, and execution of client implementation projects, ensuring successful delivery of TALON's healthcare technology solutions. Reporting to the Vice President of Customer Success, this role is responsible for establishing project management standards, driving operational excellence, and overseeing implementation project delivery across the organization.


You will partner closely with Client Success, Product, Engineering, and Engagement teams to ensure implementations are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client objectives. You will provide leadership across multiple concurrent projects, drive accountability for project execution, and develop scalable project management practices that support TALON's continued growth.


This critical role requires deep expertise in project delivery, cross-functional coordination, and process optimization. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution skills and has a proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management Leadership

  • Own the implementation project management function, including methodology, governance, reporting, and execution standards.
  • Drive accountability across cross-functional teams to ensure project commitments, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables are achieved.
  • Establish and continuously improve project management processes, templates, playbooks, and best practices that support scalable growth and consistent implementation outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resource constraints, and operational challenges that could impact implementation success.


Implementation Delivery

  • Partner with the TALON Implementation Manager to oversee client implementations from sales handoff through successful go-live.
  • Ensure project plans, timelines, dependencies, risks, and resource allocations are effectively managed across all implementation projects.
  • Provide executive-level visibility into implementation status, capacity, risks, escalations, and forecasted outcomes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment among Client Success, Product, Engineering, Data Operations, and Engagement teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Lead implementation governance and escalation processes to ensure timely resolution of issues impacting delivery.


Operational Excellence

  • Own Rocketlane as the system of record for implementation delivery, ensuring consistent project governance, reporting, milestone tracking, and operational visibility.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to measure implementation performance, project efficiency, resource utilization, and client readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase implementation scalability, predictability, and quality.



Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in project management, implementation delivery, program management, or operations leadership within healthcare technology, SaaS healthcare, employee benefits, health plans, or related healthcare organizations.
  • Proven experience building and improving project management processes, governance frameworks, and operational reporting.
  • Experience leading project managers or implementation teams with responsibility for delivery performance and organizational outcomes.
  • Advanced expertise with project management platforms such as Rocketlane, Jira, Confluence, Asana, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple initiatives.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions across technical and business teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field


Preferred Experience

  • Strong understanding of health plan structures, employer benefits administration, healthcare data integrations, and healthcare technology implementations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience leading implementation programs in a growth-stage SaaS, healthcare technology, or employee benefits organization.
  • Experience managing implementation portfolios involving multiple concurrent client deployments.
