Responsibilities
  • Act as the final stamp of approval on all assigned client copy from a strategy and quality standpoint.
  • Review copy to ensure it aligns with client strategy, brand voice, tone, and overarching content goals.
  • Review copy to ensure it serves the reader, conduct quality assurance checks to evaluate content structure, flow, and strategic effectivenessย 
  • Review copy to ensure it meets on-page SEO/GEO best practices, including proper keyword integration, internal linking, readability, and optimized page elements such as meta titles and meta descriptions.
  • Thoroughly fact-check copy to ensure all names, statistics, claims, dates, and references are accurate and properly sourced
  • Communicate clear, actionable, and constructive feedback and strategic coaching to writers, flagging issues for them to address rather than making direct edits.ย 
  • Communicate with managers, designers, and writers on strategic gaps, structural improvements, and content quality to strengthen their content execution and meet client goals.
  • Manage, maintain, and consistently improve our AI editing tool, Grammarly, to ensure client style guides are followed in the writing process, including handling grammar, spelling, and mechanical edits, as well as addressing client nuances or recurring feedbackย ย 
  • Proactively support Siege Learning & Development initiatives pertaining to content production and quality, with an emphasis on AI enhancements
  • Hit project deadlines while maintaining utilization goals.
  • Edit and review Digital PR campaign assets, including press pitches, data studies, expert commentary, survey reports, and media-facing content
  • Ensure PR content is accurate, compelling, concise, and aligned with publication standards and journalist expectations
  • Review design direction and visual recommendations to ensure they complement and elevate written content
  • Provide constructive feedback and editorial coaching to writers to help improve writing quality, storytelling, and content performance
  • Manage multiple deadlines and projects effectively while maintaining utilization and quality expectations
  • Deliver a reliable, solutions-oriented approach to helping clients grow their organic presence and brand visibility

The role breakdown and expectations for this position are based on Siegeโ€™s current Content Editor structure, including editing and proofreading, content optimization, project management, and content strategy responsibilities.

Required Skills
  • 3โ€“5 years of experience in content editing, digital publishing, journalism, content marketing, and public relationsย 
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong command of AP style
  • Experience editing and optimizing digital content, including long-form guides, thought leadership content, comparison posts, trend reports, infographics, and SEO-driven articles
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and how content supports organic growth
  • Experience editing or reviewing PR-focused content such as press releases, media pitches, expert commentary, or data-driven campaigns
  • Ability to adapt tone, complexity, and structure based on audience, publication standards, and client needs
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and toggle between multiple client projects quickly
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fully remote environment
  • Experience working in Google Workspace and project management systems

They collaborate closely with Content Marketing Specialists, Managers, Digital PR Managers, Data Journalists and designers to refine and optimize content, ensuring it adheres to each clientโ€™s style guidelines, strategic goals, SEO best practices, and media expectations. This includes meticulous editing, proofreading, fact-checking, rewriting, structural recommendations, and content optimization designed to help content perform strongly for both organic growth and brand visibility.

Content Editors are expected to be proactive, organized, and collaborative while effectively managing deadlines and maintaining consistently high editorial standards across multiple accounts and campaign types.
