Job description

PMA has an opening for a Project Controls professional at multiple levels to work as part of a Project Management Team (PMT) at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).  This is a senior-level role responsible for supporting and leading cost management, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting activities across all phases of project delivery. This position supports project performance through cost and schedule analysis, stakeholder engagement, risk identification, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires advanced project controls expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage complex projects while collaborating with project teams and clients.

Organizational Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project cost control processes, tools, and procedures; prepare and maintain detailed cost estimates; analyze variances, trends, and forecast impacts; and provide recommendations to optimize budget performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze EPC project schedules using Primavera P6, applying scheduling best practices, earned value principles, baseline management, forecasting techniques, and corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
  • Create and deliver clear, actionable cost and schedule reports for internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating project status, performance trends, risks, and key insights.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with budget and schedule objectives while supporting project execution and client engagements across multiple industries.
  • Drive continuous improvement within project controls through process enhancements, advanced use of cost and scheduling tools, mentorship and knowledge sharing, business development support, and proactive problem-solving and decision-making.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or scheduling.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Proficiency with cost management software and advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience with earned value management (EVM), including CPI, SPI, EV, PV, and AC analysis preferred.
  • Experience with change management, including evaluating cost and schedule impacts of change orders, RFIs, and scope changes.
  • Experience developing executive-level dashboards and project controls reports for clients and senior leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP, or PE are preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered in lieu of stated minimum qualifications.
The salary range for this position is $112,649 to $154,927. 
A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual’s scope of relevant experience and geographic location.
Additional Requirements
 
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
 
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
