Status: Part-Time Contract; 16 - 20  hours a week

Location: Remote; Metro Vancouver-based (with travel as needed)

Contract Term: 12 months, with the possibility of extension

Position Overview: HSR is seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to support business-to-business (B2B) marketing activities across HSR Services and HSR Zero Waste. This position is ideal for a final-year student, recent graduate, or early-career marketing professional looking to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, branding, website management, CRM support, reporting, and campaign execution. Working closely with the Marketing Coordinator, the Marketing Assistant will help execute marketing initiatives, maintain digital platforms, develop engaging content, and support consistent marketing activities across both brands.

Key Responsibilities:

Content & Social Media

•Maintain content calendars and schedule approved social media posts. 

•Create engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, Bluesky, Reddit, and other relevant platforms. 

•Monitor engagement and assist with responding to comments or inquiries where appropriate. 

•Support community engagement and help maintain a consistent online presence. 

Marketing & Brand Support

•Create and update brochures, presentations, advertisements, flyers, reports, case studies, and other marketing collateral. 

•Ensure all marketing materials align with HSR's brand standards and messaging. 

•Assist in maintaining digital asset libraries and marketing templates. 

Website & Digital Marketing

•Update website content using WordPress and Elementor. 

•Support on-page SEO improvements and website optimization. 

•Assist with email marketing campaigns and digital advertising initiatives. 

•Support the implementation of marketing campaigns across multiple digital channels. 

Marketing Analytics & Reporting

•Track campaign performance using available marketing platforms. 

•Analyze marketing performance data and identify trends and insights. 

•Update dashboards, performance trackers, and monthly marketing reports. 

•Assist with maintaining marketing metrics and KPI reporting. 

CRM & Administrative Support

•Assist with CRM data entry, organization, and reporting. 

•Maintain organized marketing documentation and campaign records. 

•Support lead management activities and data quality initiatives. 

•Assist with administrative tasks related to marketing projects and campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Currently completing, or recently completed, a diploma or bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Previous marketing, communications, administrative, internship, or co-op experience is considered an asset.
  • Basic understanding of B2B marketing principles and professional business communications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Experience using social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, Bluesky, and Reddit for business or professional purposes.
  • Experience using Canva or similar graphic design software. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and Elementor for website content management is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of SEO, digital marketing, email marketing, and online advertising principles is an asset.
  • Comfortable collecting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting marketing performance data using spreadsheets and reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong proofreading and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to research industry trends, marketing opportunities, and competitor activities.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Zoho CRM or similar customer relationship management systems is considered an asset.
  • Creative, proactive, and eager to learn while following established processes and brand guidelines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Marketing Coordinator and cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and People & Culture.
  • Interest in sustainability, recycling, environmental services, or corporate social responsibility is considered an asset.
