Job description

The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is looking for a part-time Project Manager for our Helena, MT operations.  


 

Position Summary

The selected candidate will provide professional support for due diligence and environmental projects in the United States and international markets. The role will assist with the planning, coordination, review, and delivery of technical work products related to environmental assessment, regulatory compliance, environmental sampling, and project due diligence activities.

This position may also involve work related to Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessment support, regulatory and compliance review, environmental documentation and reporting, site investigation support, project research and data analysis, domestic and international project coordination, and develop scopes of work, bid them out to international subcontractors, and procure subcontractors
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Support due diligence efforts for domestic and international projects.]
  • Assist with environmental review and assessment tasks for a wide range of project types.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze project data, records, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare written summaries, technical memoranda, reports, and supporting materials.
  • Conduct background research on site conditions, environmental constraints, and regulatory considerations.
  • Assist with coordination among internal team members, clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support project scheduling, task tracking, and deliverable management.
  • Review project materials for completeness, consistency, and quality.
  • Contribute to environmental project planning, field coordination, and documentation as assigned.
  • Assist with environmental sampling activities, including field collection support, sample documentation, chain-of-custody preparation, and coordination of sample handling and delivery, as needed.
  • Assist with compliance-related tasks as needed, including permit, reporting, and recordkeeping support.
  • Perform additional project-related duties as assigned.
  • Manage international subcontractors.
  • Translate technical documents to and from Spanish.
  • Discuss due diligence and feasibility issues with local authorities in Spanish.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in science or international studies.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.

  • Work effectively on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Communicate clearly and support collaborative project delivery.
  • Apply sound judgment when organizing and summarizing technical information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and project information.
  • Must be able to drive on an occasional basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 - 4 years of international project experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold climates.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment in adverse terrain.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors

  • When not traveling, this position will be performed from a Tetra Tech office or 100% remote from a home office.

  • Field assignments may involve exposure to environmental contaminants, variable weather, and remote locations.

Additional Information

  • This part-time position requires up to 50% travel.

  • Travel to client sites and regulatory meetings as required.

  • Occasional extended hours and night and weekend work may be required to meet client or project deadlines.

  • Must be able to drive on an occasional basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

Benefits
Tetra Tech offers a basic core medical plan and our 401k retirement plan for this position. 

The rate of pay for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
