Azure Cloud Engineer (Contract-to-Hire - Remote)

A leading financial services company is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join their Cloud & Platform Engineering team. This role offers the chance to work in a highly structured IT environment, driving automation and cloud infrastructure projects that support enterprise-scale operations. The position begins as a contract with the intent to convert to full-time.

Role Overview

The Azure Cloud Engineer will design, build, and manage cloud solutions to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable operations. The role will include automating workflows, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), supporting compliance requirements, and collaborating across multiple technology teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and optimize a multi-tenant Terraform Enterprise platform

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions for Azure environments

  • Build automated workflows with Ansible to streamline operations

  • Create reusable infrastructure patterns for multi-cloud use cases

  • Partner with DevOps, IT, and security teams on cloud initiatives and enhancements

  • Manage identity, access controls, and secrets across cloud environments

  • Document designs, processes, and standards in knowledge repositories

  • Support ongoing projects and deliver technical expertise for cloud initiatives

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience

  • Proven expertise with Terraform Enterprise in enterprise-scale environments
