Job description

Piper Companies is seeking a remote Senior Software Engineer to join a rapidly growing, mission-driven healthcare technology environment in the northern Virginia area focused on building scalable, high-impact platforms. The Senior Software Engineer is a remote role with occasional team events in the local area. The Senior Software Engineer plays a key role in designing and developing full stack applications (React, Node, Postgres, AWS), contributing to greenfield architecture, and leveraging AI-driven development tools to accelerate delivery.
Responsibilities for the Senior Software Engineer:

  • Design and build scalable full stack applications and platform services using modern technologies across web and backend systems
  • Develop and implement AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve delivery speed, testing, and code quality
  • Contribute to architecture decisions including microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud infrastructure design
  • Strengthen SDLC practices including CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, performance optimization, and security implementation
  • Work directly with product and engineering stakeholders to build impactful solutions; ideal for an engineer who wants ownership in a high-growth, mission-driven environment
Qualifications for the Senior Software Engineer include:
