Description:

Job Summary:

  • The Data Transmissions Engineer will have expertise in IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG)/B2B Integrator, Sterling Secure Proxy, SEAS and Control Center.
  • This position requires an expert level knowledge of these technologies.
  • The engineer will provide third-level support for the data transmission software, hardware, data and infrastructure components.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.
  • Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.ย 
  • Specific activities may change from time to time.
  • Responsible for installing/upgrading, configuring, and supporting the SFG infrastructure.
  • Supports environmental changes, which includes gathering requirements for system changes.
  • Will provide third-level production support covering 24/7.
  • Monitors the infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and makes recommendations for the elimination of areas that are susceptible to failure.
  • Stay up to date on all aspects of security, related to the Sterling environment and integrations.
  • Attend and sometimes lead recurring project status meetings via conference call.
  • Multi-task and work independently, while applying logic and discretion.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of application support and an understanding of best practices.
  • Required Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.ย

  • 3-5 experience in SFG/B2B Integrator, Sterling Secure Proxy, SEAS and Control Center, performing installs, administration, and configuration.
  • Understanding of network protocols, firewall configuration, and security concepts.
  • Good experience with IBM mainframe, Windows, and Linux system administration.
  • Working knowledge of security certificates.
  • Experience in handling production support engagements.
  • Ability to perform a broad range of tasks and project assignments concurrently through effective prioritization of work.
  • Be self-motivated and self-managing, demonstrating sound judgement and effective decision making.
