Job description

Position Overview

Better Selves Therapy, Ltd is seeking passionate and committed Associate Mental Health Counselors to join our dynamic telehealth team. This full-time role is designed for associate-level therapists who are eager to gain valuable clinical experience while working towards licensure. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services to clients from the comfort of their homes.

About the Organization

Better Selves Therapy, Ltd is a pioneering mental health provider based in Riverside, California, specializing in telehealth services. Our mission is to empower individuals seeking improvement in their mental health through accessible and tailored therapy options. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive environment that upholds the values of respect, integrity, and compassion in every client interaction.

Work Environment

This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to conduct therapy sessions from a suitable home environment. The telehealth model we practice enables you to connect with clients across California, ensuring that mental health support is accessible regardless of geographical barriers. You will utilize secure electronic health record (EHR) systems to track client progress and maintain confidentiality as you deliver care.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day routine will involve:

  • Conducting individual and group therapy sessions for clients of various ages and mental health diagnoses, tailoring interventions to meet their unique needs.
  • Documenting client interactions comprehensively and maintaining accurate treatment records in the EHR system.
  • Actively participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews to discuss client progress and collaborate on treatment strategies.
  • Supporting the development and modification of treatment plans in conjunction with supervised clinical staff.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development through weekly supervision sessions and training workshops designed to enhance your therapeutic skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a range of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Our goal is to provide a safe and empathetic space where clients can explore their challenges and work towards recovery.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Social Worker (ASW), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) in California.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required, with preference given to candidates who have commenced or completed their Master’s degree in a mental health discipline.
  • A foundational understanding of ethical practices and clinical standards within mental health care.
  • Basic proficiency in EHR systems, with the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of relevant experience is required, candidates with additional clinical experience or specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, or other therapeutic modalities will be given preferential consideration. A genuine interest in professional growth and a collaborative spirit are essential traits for success in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

This Associate Mental Health Counselor role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 85,000 annually. In addition to a competitive salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Supervision hours towards licensure, providing you the guidance needed as you navigate the licensure process.
  • Employer-sponsored health and wellness insurance plans to ensure your physical and mental well-being.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays to support your work-life balance.
  • A 401(k) retirement plan with company matching to help you secure your financial future.

At Better Selves Therapy, Ltd, we believe in fostering talent and creating pathways for career advancement. As you progress through your licensure and clinical experience, there will be opportunities for specialized roles within the organization, including leadership positions and clinical supervisor roles. We encourage continuous learning, and you will have access to training programs and professional development courses to enhance your clinical skills.

Why Join Our Team

By joining Better Selves Therapy, Ltd, you are becoming part of a dedicated and compassionate team focused on enhancing mental health outcomes through telehealth services.
