Tallwave

Phoenix, AZ โ€ข Remote

$70K - $110K/yr

Full-time

This job post hasย expired today.ย Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

The Person

Tallwave seeks out individuals who are a cut above. Their exceptional skill, diverse perspectives, obsession for winning together, and relentless pursuit of continuous self-improvement, both professionally and personally, give them an innate ability to lead, innovate, and inspire. They have well-honed philosophies and points of view in their areas of expertise, they think unconventionally, and their endless curiosity pushes them to constantly explore, learn, improve, and try new things.ย

The Job

The Growth Strategy Associate is a junior-to-mid level strategist (โ‰ˆ4 years experience) who helps Tallwave deliver growth strategy and product innovation work across pillar clients - complex, fast-moving organizations where teams need clearer focus, sharper growth insights, stronger strategic planning, and better connection between strategy and execution. This is a fully remote position.

In this role, you will:

  • Support growth and business strategy engagements by translating ambiguous challenges into structured insights and recommendations.
  • Contribute to measurable growth planning through research, analysis, and KPI-informed prioritization.
  • Partner with product, design, marketing, and delivery teams to translate strategy into roadmaps, narratives, and practical next steps.
  • Bring an emerging technology lens to help clients (and Tallwave) understand whatโ€™s changing and how to respond.
  • Help evolve Tallwaveโ€™s growth strategy practice through reusable frameworks, POVs, and pitch support.

Youโ€™ll split your time between hands-on strategy development, cross-functional collaboration, and supporting client-facing delivery and new business.

The Skills

1. Growth & Business Strategy

  • Support the development of growth strategies that align customer needs, business goals, and market dynamics.
  • Conduct customer, market, and competitor research; synthesize findings into actionable insights and strategic implications.
  • Identify growth opportunities across the customer lifecycle and translate them into clear opportunity areas and strategic recommendations.
  • Contribute to business case thinking (impact sizing, tradeoffs, feasibility) to help teams prioritize where to invest.
  • Support the creation of strategic narratives that make recommendations easy to understand, align around, and act on.

2. Measurement, Insight & Prioritization

  • Support KPI and measurement framework development by helping define success metrics and how performance will be tracked.
  • Analyze performance signals (funnels, cohorts, customer behavior, channel performance, product usage) to identify whatโ€™s working and whatโ€™s not.
  • Help translate insights into prioritization inputsโ€”value, effort, risk, sequencing, and dependenciesโ€”so strategy becomes a plan.
  • Contribute to executive-ready reporting and readouts that connect insight โ†’ decision โ†’ next steps.
  • Support planning artifacts and operating rhythms (working sessions, reviews, and readouts) that keep teams aligned and moving.

3. Growth Strategy

  • Partner with product strategists, designers, and delivery teams to translate strategy into product and growth priorities, engagement improvements, and roadmap inputs across web, mobile, and platform surfaces.
  • Connect product strategy (what to build, for whom, and why) with growth strategy (how it gets adopted, expands, and retains) by framing initiatives around clear customer problems, value propositions, and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with acquisition and lifecycle marketing stakeholders to link channel strategy and customer intent to product journeysโ€”ensuring landing pages, onboarding, activation loops, and conversion paths support product adoption and growth goals.
  • Support the development of full-funnel product growth strategies by identifying friction points and opportunities across acquisition โ†’ activation โ†’ engagement โ†’ conversion โ†’ retention, and translating them into actionable initiatives and roadmap recommendations.
  • Contribute to go-to-market and acquisition planning by helping define target segments, positioning/value propositions, messaging hierarchies, and channel implicationsโ€”especially for companies in scale mode.
  • Bring an emerging tech lens into product + growth work: help assess where AI, automation, personalization, and new platforms can create differentiated product experiences and lifecycle outcomes (without chasing hype).
  • Support workshops and working sessions that align product, design, marketing, and analytics stakeholders around product growth problems, priorities, and decisions.
  • Work in and around tools like Figma and collaborative whiteboarding to review flows, capture feedback, and help assemble clear narratives and storyboards for stakeholder reviews.
  • Help maintain high-quality strategy artifacts (briefs, storyboards, journey maps, funnel diagnostics, growth hypotheses, product narratives, prioritization models) that teams can execute against.

4. Emerging Technology & Practice Building

  • Track emerging technology trends (especially AI) and translate them into practical implications for growth, product strategy, and customer experience.
  • Contribute to Tallwave POVs, briefs, and examples that help clients understand whatโ€™s changing and how to respond.
  • Support new business by conducting research, shaping slides, drafting narratives, and contributing to pitch materials and proposals.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to build and refine Tallwaveโ€™s reusable growth strategy templates and toolkits.
  • Contribute to internal learningโ€”sharing tools, examples, and methods that improve how the strategy team works.
The Requirements

Experience

  • ~4 years in growth strategy, consulting, product strategy, business operations, corporate strategy, analytics, or a high-growth startup environment.
  • Experience supporting strategy work that connects to execution (planning, prioritization, roadmaps, operating rhythms)โ€”not just research.
  • Exposure to cross-functional work with product, design, data, or marketing teams.
  • Familiarity with emerging technology trends (especially AI) and interest in applying them to real growth and customer problems.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills: you can structure ambiguous questions into clear workstreams and outputs.
  • Strong research and synthesis ability: you can pull signal from noise and articulate insights with clear implications.
  • Comfort with metrics: you can work with KPIs/OKRs and performance data to support prioritization and recommendations.
  • Strong storytelling skills: you can build clean narratives and high-quality slides that communicate clearly to client stakeholders.
  • Workshop and meeting support: you can help plan sessions, contribute in the room, and synthesize outputs into decisions and next steps.
  • Tool fluency: Google Suite/MS Office; comfort learning and using tools like Figma, FigJam/Miro, Asana/Confluence, etc.

Mindset

  • Outcome-oriented: you care about impact, not just outputs.
  • Growth-minded: you naturally look for how businesses scale, where friction exists, and what levers matter.
  • Curious about emerging tech: you pay attention to how AI and new platforms change customer behavior and business advantage.
  • Low ego, high ownership: you take feedback well, move fast, and raise the quality bar.
What Success Looks Like

In this role, success looks like:

  • You consistently produce high-quality research, insights, and strategy artifacts that teams and clients can trust.
  • Your work helps turn insight into decisionsโ€”clear priorities, strong narratives, and practical next steps.
  • Client teams feel supported and confident because you show up prepared, contribute meaningfully, and follow through.
  • You grow your ownership over timeโ€”leading portions of workshops, owning workstreams, and proactively driving outputs.
  • Tallwaveโ€™s growth strategy practice becomes stronger and more repeatable through your contributions to templates, POVs, and pitch support.
