What is a remote product reviewer?

Remote product reviewers are individuals who evaluate and provide feedback on products from the comfort of their own homes. They typically receive products—such as electronics, beauty items, or household goods—from companies looking for honest opinions before launching or marketing their items. Reviewers share their assessments through written reviews, videos, or surveys, helping companies improve their offerings and build trust with potential customers. This role is often flexible and may be part-time or freelance, making it popular among those seeking remote work opportunities.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a remote product reviewer?

As a Remote Product Reviewer, your daily responsibilities typically include testing assigned products, documenting your experiences, and providing detailed, unbiased feedback through written reports or surveys. You may also participate in virtual meetings to discuss your findings with product development teams and collaborate with other reviewers to ensure comprehensive evaluation. Managing deadlines and staying organized is key, as products often need to be reviewed within a set timeframe. Additionally, you may be asked to provide suggestions for product improvements based on your hands-on experience.

Job description

Optum is a global organization that delivers care, aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives. The work you do with our team will directly improve health outcomes by connecting people with the care, pharmacy benefits, data and resources they need to feel their best. Here, you will find a culture guided by inclusion, talented peers, comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities. Come make an impact on the communities we serve as you help us advance health optimization on a global scale. Join us to start Caring. Connecting. Growing together.

The Senior Product Manager is a strategic product leader responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for one of Optum Payment Integrity's Facility Claim Review products. These are established, widely adopted products operating at significant scale  which means the innovation you drive reaches the market fast and shows up in real client and financial outcomes, not someday but now.

Optum Payment Integrity helps health plans and healthcare organizations ensure claims are paid accurately and fairly, reducing unnecessary medical spend across the full claim lifecycle through a combination of advanced analytics, AI, and deep healthcare reimbursement expertise. You will own the product vision, roadmap, and performance ensuring the product delivers measurable client value, scales effectively, and remains differentiated in the market.

Why this role

  • Own a product that's already winning  and take it further. You're not starting from zero. You'll inherit a proven, in-market product with a strong client base and clear runway to scale new value quickly.

  • Build at the intersection of healthcare reimbursement and applied AI. You'll partner daily with AI/ML, analytics, and data science teams to turn some of healthcare's most complex reimbursement problems into intelligent, data-driven solutions.

  • Real influence, real visibility. You'll set strategy, drive execution, and shape decisions alongside senior leaders across product, engineering, and go-to-market  with your impact measured in client outcomes and business growth.

This is a high-impact role for a strategic product leader who thrives at the intersection of data, technology, and market opportunity, and who is equally adept at setting vision and driving execution.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define the Market Vision and Product Strategy
    • Craft and champion a clear product vision and multi-year product strategy
    • Translate market needs, payer feedback, facility reimbursement changes, and competitive intelligence into actionable product direction
    • Align product investments to deliver customer value, revenue  growth, and market differentiation
    • Partner with other Product Managers in the portfolio to ensure product decisions support both scalability and client success
  • Lead Product Development and Execution
    • Translate strategy into actionable roadmaps, well-defined requirements, and prioritized outcomes
    • Collaborate with engineering, AI/ML, analytics, and operations to deliver data-driven solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and user experience
    • Drive prioritization, balancing innovation, technical debt reduction, and operational scalability
    • Ensure product launches are timely, high-quality, and aligned to go-to-market goals
  • Measure and Optimize Product Performance
    • Define and monitor KPIs tied to adoption, financial performance, and client outcomes
    • Partner with analytics and finance teams to evaluate product ROI and inform future investments
    • Use data and user feedback to continuously refine strategy, features, and market positioning
  • Collaborate to Drive Market Growth
    • Partner with go-to-market, sales, and marketing teams to drive product adoption and expansion across payer clients
    • Support pricing, packaging, and positioning in collaboration with the Director of Product and GTM leadership
    • Identify and scale client-proven innovations to the broader market
  • Stay Ahead of Market and Industry Trends
    • Monitor market, regulatory, and competitive shifts to identify emerging opportunities and risks
    • Translate evolving market dynamics into forward-looking roadmap updates

At Optum, product leaders are builders and connectors - translating complex healthcare challenges into scalable, data-driven solutions that improve affordability and trust in the healthcare system. You will collaborate closely with other Product Managers and cross-functional teams to advance a unified roadmap and shared vision for building AI-powered solutions that transform healthcare payment integrity.

If you thrive on turning insight into impact and working across teams to drive innovation, you'll find your next challenge here.

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience in product management, product strategy, and/or business transformation
  • 3 years of experience in payment integrity
  • Experience with inpatient and outpatient reimbursement methodologies (ex. DRG) and facility claims
  • Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, business cases, and implementation plans for complex healthcare products or initiatives
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across Product, Clinical, Technology, Operations, and Growth organizations
  • Experience partnering with engineering, AI/ML, analytics, and data science teams to deliver data-driven products and capabilities
  • Proven solid analytical skills with experience using customer insights, market intelligence, and data to drive product prioritization and decision-making
  • Proven ability to translate complex or ambiguous business challenges into scalable product solutions and actionable roadmaps
  • Proven solid written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting product strategies, business cases, and results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent experience in business strategy, technology, or product leadership
  • Product or Agile certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM, or similar
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI into product design, development, or ongoing management
  • Experience launching and scaling products in data intensive, cloud based, or AI enabled platforms
  • Experience leading or mentoring other product professionals, or partnering closely with engineering leaders to deliver outcomes (not just outputs)
  • Experience leading senior level presentations, workshops, or stakeholder forums
  • Working knowledge of Optum and/or UnitedHealth Group
  • Proven ability to extract actionable insights from large, heterogeneous datasets
