About the Role
Our client, a leading retail organization, is seeking a Data Product Manager to support data products within its Indirect and Reverse Logistics Supply Chain operations. This role will serve as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders, analytics teams, source-system owners, and data engineering teams to ensure business needs are translated into scalable data solutions.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing data products throughout the full product lifecycle and a strong understanding of data governance, analytics, and cloud modernization initiatives. This position will play a key role in ongoing efforts to modernize data platforms and support migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Job Description
As a Data Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering data products that support supply chain and logistics business functions. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, gather requirements, and drive the successful implementation of data solutions that enable informed business decision-making.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, reporting teams, data analysts, and technology partners to identify business challenges and define data needs.
  • Translate business objectives and analytical requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized deliverables.
  • Own and manage the data product backlog, balancing business value, risk, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Develop a strong understanding of business processes, data sources, and data flows to support effective decision-making and issue resolution.
  • Partner with data engineering, reporting, and source-system teams to coordinate dependencies and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and dependencies, escalating concerns and communicating impacts to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Lead user acceptance testing, data validation, and implementation activities to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Establish and monitor expectations for data quality, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and usability.
  • Support data modernization initiatives and cloud migration efforts, including the transition of data pipelines, datasets, and reporting solutions to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Communicate product priorities, project status, decisions, risks, and upcoming work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Drive data product adoption and continuous improvement through stakeholder engagement and feedback.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience managing data products, data platforms, or analytics-focused initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data quality, governance, integration, and reporting.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and technology teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex business processes and identify data-driven solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting data testing, validation, and implementation activities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting supply chain, logistics, reverse logistics, transportation, or retail operations.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data architectures.
  • Experience working with reporting and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
