Job Summary
EMCOR Group, Inc. seeks a Learning & Development Intern who will support leadership and professional development initiatives across the organization. This internship is designed for graduate students seeking applied experience in instructional design, leadership development, learning evaluation, and organizational development. The intern will collaborate with members of the Organizational Development team and internal stakeholders to create learning assets, support program delivery, and help measure learning impact through data and feedback. Work products are intended to be portfolio-ready and may include facilitation materials, digital learning content, communication resources, and evaluation summaries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the design and development of leadership and professional learning programs by contributing to needs assessments, outlining learning objectives, and drafting content aligned to adult learning principles.
  • Create, update, and quality-check learning materials (slide decks, job aids, facilitator guides, participant guides, and e-learning/storyboards) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and an engaging learner experience.
  • Assist with evaluation and analysis of learning effectiveness by compiling survey results, analyzing participation/completion data, summarizing learner feedback, and identifying opportunities to improve content and delivery.
  • Support virtual and instructor-led training delivery, including session logistics, participant communications, roster management, material preparation, and day-of facilitation support (chat monitoring, breakout setup, polls, and troubleshooting).
  • Conduct research on adult learning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness best practices; translate findings into practical recommendations, job aids, or content enhancements.
  • Assist with LMS administration and learning operations, including course setup, session scheduling, enrollment support, reporting, content uploads, and maintaining organized documentation and version control.
  • Participate in a capstone project with portfolio-ready deliverables, such as a microlearning module, toolkit, facilitation guide, evaluation report, or improvement plan aligned to a business need.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Learning & Performance, HR, Education, or related field).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in corporate learning, leadership development, manager development, virtual learning, or organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to analyze data and synthesize insights.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and comfort working independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams); ability to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Temporary, full-time internship; fully remote. Must have reliable internet access and a suitable, distraction-limited workspace for virtual meetings and training support.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with instructional design deliverables (storyboards, facilitator guides, job aids) and learning technologies
  • Familiarity with adult learning theory and evaluation models
  • Experience with authoring tools and/or LMS platforms
  • Exposure to leadership/behavioral assessments and debrief tools (e.g., DiSC, CliftonStrengths, MBTI, Hogan, or similar)
