Position Summary
Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Business Development Intern to support growth initiatives across the federal government contracting market. This internship provides hands-on exposure to business development, capture support, market research, pipeline tracking, and proposal-related activities. The selected candidate will assist with identifying opportunities, organizing business development data, preparing internal materials, and supporting the team's efforts to expand customer and partner relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with market research on federal agencies, customers, competitors, contract vehicles, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Support pipeline tracking and maintain accurate opportunity data in internal business development tools and spreadsheets.
  • Help monitor government procurement portals, industry sources, and customer websites for relevant opportunities and updates.
  • Prepare draft summaries, reports, and briefing materials for internal business development reviews.
  • Support capture and proposal activities by gathering background information, organizing documents, and tracking action items.
  • Assist with preparing capability statements, past performance references, and other business development support materials.
  • Participate in internal strategy meetings and take notes on customer priorities, teaming discussions, and opportunity status.
  • Conduct basic research on industry partners, subcontractors, and teaming prospects.
  • Help maintain organized records of business development materials, templates, and reference documents.
  • Perform other related business development and operations support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program or have recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Political Science, Government, or a related field.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be able to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Be comfortable conducting research, summarizing findings, and presenting information clearly.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced GovCon environment.
