Remote UX Design primarily focuses on user experience, research, and usability testing. While both roles require design skills and collaboration, Product Designers have a broader scope that includes product strategy, whereas UX Designers concentrate on optimizing user interactions.

How do remote product designers effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams?

Remote product designers typically use a combination of digital collaboration tools, such as Figma, Slack, and Zoom, to work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders. Regular virtual meetings, clear documentation, and shared design systems help ensure everyone stays aligned on goals and project progress. Building strong communication habits and proactively seeking feedback are key to overcoming the challenges of distance and time zones in a remote setup. This collaborative approach fosters a sense of teamwork and helps remote designers contribute effectively to the product development process.

What is remote product design?

Remote product design is the process of creating and developing new products or improving existing ones while working from a location outside of a traditional office setting. Designers collaborate virtually using digital tools to ideate, prototype, test, and iterate on product concepts. This approach allows teams to work together from different geographic locations, often improving flexibility and access to diverse talent. Remote product designers typically use communication platforms, cloud-based design software, and project management tools to facilitate their workflow.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote product designer?

To thrive as a Remote Product Designer, you need expertise in UX/UI principles, a strong portfolio, and proficiency in design thinking and user research, typically supported by a degree in design or related field. Familiarity with tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and collaboration platforms such as Miro or Slack is crucial. Exceptional communication, time management, and problem-solving skills help you stand out in remote, cross-functional teams. These abilities enable the creation of user-centered products while maintaining efficient collaboration and productivity from a distance.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Designer based in Netherlands.

This role offers the opportunity to design innovative digital products at the intersection of finance, technology, and decentralized systems.
You will contribute to shaping user experiences for next-generation web products and decentralized applications.
Working closely with product, engineering, and business teams, you will transform complex challenges into intuitive and impactful solutions.
The position is ideal for a designer who combines strong UX expertise, visual craft, and a passion for building products from the ground up.
You will have significant ownership across the product lifecycle, from early concepts and prototypes to polished final experiences.
This is a hands-on opportunity to influence product strategy and help create solutions used by a global technology community.

Accountabilities:

As a Product Designer, you will play a key role in defining and improving digital experiences while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality products. You will help establish strong design practices, advocate for users, and contribute to strategic product decisions through thoughtful research, prototyping, and execution.

  • Lead design projects throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial concepts and user flows to final product launches.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to create elegant and practical solutions to complex design challenges.
  • Develop user-focused strategies by gathering insights, understanding customer needs, and creating experiences that deliver meaningful value.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts quickly while balancing speed, exploration, and attention to detail.
  • Influence product strategy and contribute to improving design quality, consistency, and overall user experience.
  • Help strengthen design processes and promote a user-centered approach across the organisation.
  • Apply strong visual design principles across layouts, typography, colour, and interaction patterns.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a skilled UI/UX designer with experience creating consumer-facing digital products and a passion for solving complex problems in fast-moving environments. You should be comfortable working independently, collaborating across functions, and taking ownership of your design decisions.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in UI/UX or product design roles.
  • Proven experience designing high-quality consumer-facing web and mobile products.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and detailed product designs.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, information architecture, and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
  • Strong foundation in graphic design, including layout, typography, colour, and visual composition.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful design decisions, attention to detail, and passion for craftsmanship.
  • Experience working in fintech, crypto, blockchain, or digital asset products is a plus.
  • Previous experience with cryptocurrency exchanges or decentralized applications is highly valued.
  • Availability to work within North/South America or European time zones.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary package with additional token-based rewards.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Flexible working hours and remote work environment.
  • Home office stipend and necessary equipment support.
  • Opportunity to work on innovative blockchain technology shaping the future of digital finance.
  • Collaboration with a global, talented, and ambitious team.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Global team meetups and opportunities to connect with colleagues worldwide.
