About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Procurement Consultant for a 6–8 month engagement. This project-focused role will evaluate the organization's current procurement function, identify opportunities for operational improvements, and develop recommendations that enhance efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support long-term organizational goals.

 

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a strategic Procurement Consultant to perform a comprehensive review of procurement operations across the organization. This individual will assess purchasing processes, supplier management, procurement technology, and organizational structure while providing actionable recommendations to improve workflows, reduce costs, and establish procurement best practices. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of procurement expertise, consulting experience, and process improvement knowledge.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate current procurement operations, purchasing workflows, and supporting systems to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze procurement policies, approval procedures, and internal controls to improve compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Review vendor management practices, sourcing strategies, contract administration, and supplier performance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing, consolidate vendors, negotiate favorable pricing, and reduce costs.
  • Assess procurement responsibilities across departments and recommend improvements to organizational structure and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate inventory, asset management, and purchasing activities where applicable.
  • Benchmark current procurement practices against industry standards and recommend scalable best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, reporting enhancements, and improved visibility through procurement technology.
  • Develop standardized procurement policies, documentation, and operating procedures.
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations, including future staffing and organizational needs.

Qualifications:

  • 5–8+ years of procurement experience, including consulting or advisory engagements.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and improving procurement operations, workflows, and purchasing processes.
  • Strong background in vendor negotiations, contract management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience working with ERP or procurement platforms (NetSuite experience is highly preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
