About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer with experience in Pharmaceutical design to join our growing Life Science & Industrial team.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical Process Systems Design and a passion for growth, collaboration, and innovation.
Design projects will span multiple markets and geographies, providing opportunities to broaden your knowledge and deepen your expertise. We are looking for someone who is an independent self-starter and can move quickly and efficiently through various design stages, from concept planning to construction documentation.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Biochemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 10+ years experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech process design engineering.
  • Experience in upstream or downstream process design, cGMP design, and process validation.
  • Experience supporting all levels of design from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and validation.
  • Experience with equipment selection for product line development and utilities including clean utilities, CIP, SIP, and WFI systems.
  • Experience with debottlenecking and optimization of existing facilities.
  • Advanced experience in cGMP engineering design principles and applicable guides, codes, and standards.
  • Experience in developing scope of work, estimating, and scheduling professional man-hours for projects.
  • Full understanding of process design and managing process engineering work.
  • Ability to lead a small team on a project and deliver presentations to clients
  • Ability to generate complete process engineering documents and review vendor drawings and specifications
  • Ability to develop process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment datasheets and cost studies. Support development of layouts.
  • Ability to size and generate specifications for equipment and URS.
  • Familiarity with specification and installation of equipment, piping, and instruments.
  • Ability to mentor and train Junior engineers.
  • Experienced in process simulation (i.e., ASPEN One, CHEMCAD, Promax, PRO II, or similar)
  • Experienced in Hydraulic software ( i.e. AFT Fathom, Arrow, PIPE-FLO)
  • Experienced in drafting software (i.e., AutoCAD, MicroStation)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally
  • Ability to travel 25% - While most travel would be domestic, this position could have the opportunity for international travel in which case a valid passport would be necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Experience in small or large molecule pharmaceutical design
  • Experience in biologics design
  • Experience in scale up from lab or pilot scale to manufacturing or commercial production
  • Experience designing for CMO or CDMO Clients
