Automation Engineer
The Opportunity:
Work collaboratively with system analysts to devise and implement an automated solution to conducting Active Directory account audits. Leverage the existing PowerShell codebase to extend its functionality to provide auditing capability on an enterprise-wide basis. Develop and extend the PowerBI user interface for the automated solution to provide access to the extended functionality. Assist with the development of end-user documentation that describes the functionality and operation of the developed package. Developing automation scripts in the Microsoft suite of products such as SQL Server, and PowerBI to streamline and automate the Continuous Monitoring Audits (CMAs) that Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) conduct. Participate in interviews with the Information System Security Officers currently performing audits to identify areas where automation can reduce the level of effort required to conduct those audits. Review Standard Operating Procedures to identify processes that can be implemented in software to reduce the manual effort required to conduct account management audits. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in system analysis and developing data extraction and integration plans
  • Experience developing plans for system integration and working collaboratively with other system developers to implement them
  • Knowledge of SQL such as table optimization and stored procedures, and PowerBI such as dashboard development and data pipelines
  • Knowledge of automation capabilities
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and the data fields associated with user groups and accounts
  • Ability to design automation plans, examine existing reports and source data and data quality, and identify the transformations and data cleansing required to replicate the reports with automation
  • Ability to examine Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) processes to identify changes that can deliver efficiency gains
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, creatively, and analytically
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or an engineering, or technology field and 10+ years of experience with computer science or engineering, or 20+ years of experience with computer science or engineering in lieu of a degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
