Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Physician Coding Educator to support Professional Fee coding accuracy, physician education, chart auditing, and documentation improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong OB/OBGYN Professional Fee coding experience and a proven ability to educate physicians through 1:1 and group training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct OB/OBGYN and Professional Fee coding audits and chart reviews.
  • Review physician documentation for coding accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
  • Provide 1:1 and group coding education to physicians and clinical staff.
  • Identify coding trends, documentation gaps, and compliance risks.
  • Translate audit findings into targeted education and improvement plans.
  • Support coding consistency, documentation improvement, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with coding, clinical, revenue cycle, and leadership teams.

Required Qualifications

  • CPC, CCS, or CCS-P certification required.
  • 3+ years of Professional Fee coding experience.
  • Strong OB/OBGYN coding experience as a primary specialty.
  • Experience with physician chart audits and documentation review.
  • Direct physician education experience, including 1:1 and group training.
  • Knowledge of coding compliance, documentation standards, and audit readiness.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Surgical specialty coding experience.
  • Critical Care experience, including NICU, PICU, SICU, or CCU.
  • CDEO or CDIP certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide coding education or audit programs.
  • Experience supporting documentation improvement initiatives.
