This position is integral to facilitating development projects within the City of Durham. Duties include data mining and entry; responding to internal and external customer inquiries and submittals via phone calls, emails, and in person; updating and maintaining multiple databases, records, and logs; paralegal and property research.
Duties/Responsibilities
Key components of this position involve:
  • Conducting property and paralegal research.
  • Invoicing, collecting, processing, and daily reconciliation of various utility connection and development fees.
  • Generate new utility billing accounts, which includes setting up appropriate billing codes, customer identification information, and property information and details.
  • Generating work orders for the installation of utility connections and services.
  • Provide paraprofessional support to senior staff as needed by conducting research and working on special projects.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, TASC).
  • Three years engineering support experience in the area of assignment.

Additional Preferred Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MUNIS, Access databases, ArcGIS, and Excel spreadsheets is preferred.
  • Proficiency with building databases and/or queries.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
