The Private Wellness Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team. The Private Wellness Counseling Center utilizes advanced electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, ensuring that clinical documentation is streamlined and efficient. • Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting cases from the initial consultation to completion of treatment.
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for diverse client groups, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, based on thorough evaluations.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices and creative therapeutic techniques to encourage client participation and healing.
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies based on ongoing assessments.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive treatment plans that address both mental and physical health needs.
• Communicate effectively with clients and their families, assisting them in understanding behavioral challenges and fostering supportive relationships that promote recovery.
• Manage referrals to appropriate community resources and support networks, ensuring clients have access to comprehensive care.
• Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in psychotherapy, implementing new techniques to enhance client care.

This position entails working closely with individuals facing unique personal issues, providing culturally sensitive care, and adapting therapeutic approaches based on client preferences and circumstances.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R within the state of New York.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.

• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical or community health setting.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
• A solid understanding of various mental health conditions and treatment modalities, including experience with substance abuse and dual diagnosis clients.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) standards and best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of the interaction between mental health and prescribed medications, informing treatment decisions.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, reflecting the importance of this role in our organization.
