Job description

Senior Network Engineer / Principal Network Architect

Enterprise Infrastructure Consulting | Remote (NY/NJ Metro)

CCIEs are strongly encouraged to apply.

A growing technology consulting organization is looking to add a Senior Network Engineer and a Principal Network Architect to its Enterprise Infrastructure practice.

These are client-facing consulting roles supporting large enterprise environments across data center, campus, WAN, cloud, and security initiatives. Team members work remotely when not supporting customers onsite and are trusted advisors throughout the lifecycle of complex infrastructure projects.

The team works on challenging transformation initiatives including data center modernization, SD-WAN deployments, cloud connectivity, network segmentation, campus refreshes, and large-scale migration efforts.

This is an opportunity to work on complex projects, stay hands-on with modern technologies, and partner directly with enterprise customers to solve real business problems.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, implement, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across campus, branch, and data center environments
  • Lead complex migration, transformation, and modernization projects
  • Work directly with customer stakeholders to understand requirements and develop technical solutions
  • Participate in architecture reviews, design workshops, and technical planning sessions
  • Develop customer-facing documentation including designs, implementation plans, migration strategies, and operational runbooks
  • Support project delivery from discovery and design through implementation and knowledge transfer
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in production environments
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and leadership teams to ensure successful project outcomes

Technologies

Candidates should have experience with several of the following technologies:

  • Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms
  • Enterprise routing and switching
  • BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRFs, QoS, multicast
  • VXLAN/EVPN and spine-leaf architectures
  • Cisco ACI
  • SD-WAN technologies
  • Data center networking and modernization
  • AWS and Azure connectivity
  • Network security and segmentation concepts
  • Arista, Fortinet, and Juniper technologies
  • Network automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform

What We're Looking For

Senior Network Engineer

  • 7+ years of enterprise networking experience
  • Strong implementation and project delivery background
  • Experience leading technical workstreams and customer engagements
  • Active CCNP or equivalent level expertise

Principal Network Architect

  • 12+ years of enterprise networking and architecture experience
  • Consulting, VAR, systems integrator, or professional services background strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead architecture, design, and customer-facing technical strategy discussions
  • Active CCIE strongly preferred
  • Experience mentoring engineers and serving as a senior technical leader

Highlights

  • Work on high-impact enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Exposure to large, complex customer environments
  • Opportunity to stay hands-on while continuing to grow technically
  • Strong engineering culture with access to modern technologies
  • Variety of projects across data center, cloud, campus, WAN, and security domains
  • Remote work environment when not supporting customers onsite
  • Clear path for continued technical growth and advancement

If you're looking for an opportunity where you'll spend more time designing, building, and solving complex infrastructure challenges rather than maintaining legacy environments, we'd welcome a conversation.
