THIS POSITION IS FOR CANDIDATES BASED IN PHOENIX, AZ. (This role requires up to 10% travel annually, including occasional trips for team meetings, training, or client-related activities).

Catering to companies of all sizes and industries, including some of the world's largest brands, Sonatafy Technology is a trusted provider of nearshore enterprise-level cloud and mobile application software development services.


Sonatafy Technology is seeking aPrincipal Engineerto lead complex software architecture initiatives, drive modernization efforts, and lead high-performing engineering teams. This senior role blends architecture, hands-on development, and strategic problem-solving for enterprise clients building next-generation systems. You will guide multiple engineering teams through the design and delivery of scalable, event-driven platforms, establish technical standards, and ensure world-class engineering practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead architecture design across distributed, event-driven, and microservices-based systems.
  • Enforce clean architecture and SOLID principles, ensuring alignment across multiple engineering pods.
  • Guide the adoption of emerging technologies, including Generative AI Development Toolchains, LLMs, and automation-driven engineering practices.
  • Establish technical standards for code quality, CI/CD automation, testing, and documentation.
  • Partner with executives, product managers, and DevOps to translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead client-facing technical discussions and solution architecture sessions during pre-sales engagements.
  • Collaborate with the sales and delivery teams to design and present proposals, technical roadmaps, and proofs of concept that address client pain points.
  • Participate in RFP/RFI responses, estimating, and solution scoping with a focus on clear business outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients through strong communication, thought leadership, and credibility as a senior engineering partner.
  • Mentor engineers and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor capable of bridging business priorities with technical strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of software development in data-centric Win32/Web applications using Microsoft tools:
  • .NET, HTML, ASP, Microsoft SQL Server
  • Expert-level understanding of relational databases (preferably MSSQL)
  • Proven success leading or managing senior-level teams within Scrum/Agile environments
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools and techniques, including GitHub Copilot and Prompt Engineering
  • Preferred experience with ASP.NET, WCF, Web Services, XML, SQL Server, Windows Services, UX Design, JavaScript, CSS, Domain-Driven Design, and nServiceBus
  • Previous leadership in Agile or SAFe-based SDLC environments


Specialized Skills:

  • Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) and their application in automation and feature engineering
  • Strong understanding of consumer lending business processes
  • Deep knowledge of design patterns and best practices for scalable architecture
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments (Product, Engineering, QA) to manage dependencies and technical initiatives
  • Ownership mindset with strong decision-making, analytical, and communication skills
