Pricing Analyst
The Pricing Analyst plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and profitability through proactive pricing analysis, strategy development, and optimization. This is a strategic role not solely focused on their report development. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, identifies opportunities independently, and actively brings forward insights and recommendations that influence pricing decisions across the business. You will own key pricing analyses, lead pricing experimentation, and partner closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure pricing strategies are data-driven, commercially sound, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Price Performance Measurement & Analysis
  • Own and lead the analysis of core pricing performance metrics, including total billings, average order value, price per unit, margin, and contribution margin
  • Analyze pricing performance as it relates to overall profitability, customer behavior, and product viability
  • Develop and maintain advanced pricing models to evaluate pricing trends, elasticity, and margin impact
  • Translate and communicate complex pricing data into clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations

Pricing Strategy Development & Optimization
  • Own the analysis and modeling for the development, testing, and refinement of pricing strategies
  • Proactively recommend price changes based on customer behavior, product performance, market dynamics, and competitive trends
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of promotions, pricing campaigns, bundling strategies, and discounting frameworks
  • Work closely with Product Marketing and Sales to continually refine the organizations pricing curve with an emphasis on driving more total profits.

Data Management & Reporting
  • Build, own, and maintain pricing dashboards that clearly visualize key performance indicators
  • Utilize tools such as Excel, SQL, and BI platforms (e.g.Power BI, Tableau) to generate actionable pricing insights
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across pricing analyses and reporting

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and Finance to influence pricing decisions and strategy
  • Support pricing decisions for new product launches, including economic value estimation and pricing frameworks
  • Collaborate with Technology teams to enhance pricing data infrastructure and automation
  • Clearly communicate pricing tradeoffs and recommendations-even when they challenge existing assumptions

Qualifications & Skills
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, product analytics, revenue analytics, or a related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and analytical reasoning, including the ability to explore unfamiliar problems, challenge assumptions, develop hypotheses, and determine the appropriate analytical approach.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, with experience connecting analytical findings to customer behavior, revenue, profitability, and operational priorities and using those insights to recommend a course of action.
  • Understanding of or demonstrated ability to quickly learn pricing concepts such as price elasticity, contribution margin, discounting, bundling, and revenue management.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau with experience working with large, complex, or disparate datasets.
  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex findings and their business implications to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred
  • Experience applying analytics to pricing, revenue optimization, product performance, profitability, promotions, or customer behavior.
  • Experience designing or evaluating business experiments and distinguishing the effect of an initiative from broader market or performance trends.
  • Experience in eCommerce industry.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced growth environment.
