Job Overview
Price Benowitz LLP is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Paralegal with Virginia personal injury experience to remotely support our Washington, D.C.-based Personal Injury Practice Group.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing Virginia personal injury cases during the pre-litigation phase, from initial intake through settlement or transition to litigation. This role requires someone who can independently manage a caseload, communicate effectively with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies, and keep cases moving toward resolution.
This is a full-time, remote position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Eastern Time.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of personal injury matters through the pre-litigation phase, from intake through settlement or transfer to litigation.
  • Maintain organized and accurate client files and case documentation.
  • Draft and send letters of representation and other correspondence to insurance carriers, medical providers, and other parties.
  • Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, accident reports, insurance information, and other case-related documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding treatment, case status, documentation, and next steps.
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, lienholders, and other third parties.
  • Assist attorneys with evaluating claims and preparing settlement demand packages.
  • Track medical treatment, outstanding records and bills, insurance coverage, liens, and case deadlines.
  • Assist with lien identification and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and ensure all matters are progressing appropriately.
  • Prepare files for attorney review, settlement negotiations, or transition to the litigation team when necessary.
  • Provide responsive, compassionate, and professional service to clients throughout the life of their case.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of 3+ years of personal injury paralegal or case management experience.
  • Virginia personal injury experience is required, including familiarity with Virginia-specific claims procedures, insurance issues, deadlines, and personal injury practices.
  • Strong experience managing pre-litigation personal injury cases independently.
  • Experience handling cases from intake through demand and settlement.
  • Strong knowledge of medical records, medical billing, insurance claims, and lien issues.
  • Excellent client communication and case-management skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Comfortable learning and working with case-management software and other technology in a remote environment.
  • Washington, D.C. and/or Maryland personal injury experience is a plus, but Virginia experience is the primary requirement.
